Pacquiao Hatton 24/7 - Final EpisodePro Fighting Fans has released our Pacquiao Hatton preview!
It's the night before the big Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao fight and we are getting the final episode of Pacquiao Hatton 24/7. We see Hatton looking concentrated doing his roadwork while he describes fighting himself as fighting an animal. Floyd Mayweather Sr. said that they are scared to death of this fight, and he's in Roach's head. It's Hatton's last day of sparring and we get to see some footage of that, which is a change of pace as Hatton normally doesn't allow it. Hatton seems a little bit more muscular than he normally does, perhaps since he didn't balloon up in weight as much before this bout. He spars with a fighter of Roger Mayweather and Roger points out that Hatton's strength is his main advantage in this fight. We see a young member of the Mayweather clan, about four years old, hitting the heavy bag with some gloves on. Roger and Floyd mention how he's the next one destined to be champion, and Hatton pushes Floyd Sr. away and says like I haven't had enough of these Mayweathers!
Taking a look into Manny Pacquiao's camp they are making their final preparations in the gym, and Roach says it's time to get the fine tuning done. Michael Moorer likes the fire he sees in Pacquiao and Roach says he's confident in the game plan and Pacquiao's ability to pull it off. Roach says he fears nothing about Hatton and what he brings and he mentions Pacquiao's work ethic as being a deciding factor. Pacquiao and camp are taking the four hour drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. At the Las Vegas Airport we see Hatton's parents and fiancé arrive and announce their arrival. Hatton says he's happy to see his family but it has to be in small doses so he keeps his focus on the fight. Pacquiao arrives at his Vegas hotel with his entourage and a slew of fans and Hatton takes a call with his son. He says he couldn't forgive himself if he let his son watch the fight and something happened. Hatton talks about doing everything that he does for his family, and that he's sure that Pacquiao is the same way. Ray Hatton, Ricky's father, is in the gym watching the workouts. Hatton mentions how this camp has been 12 weeks long for maximum preparation. Hatton has his official arrival at the MGM Grand and is greeted by a throng of traveling UK fans. Mayweather Sr. says he is excited because he knows Hatton can win. Pacquiao has his official arrival at the Mandalay Bay with a seemingly endless stream of photographers and chanting fans. Pacquiao takes care of a few interviews and some autographs before making his way to his personal room. Pacquiao's mother is excited for the fight, and it will be the first time she sees him fight in person, as well as her first time in the United States. Pacquiao and Roach are working the mitts with their specific game plan and go over what Pacquiao has to do in the fight. Pacquiao says his camp was 8 weeks, he trained long and he's ready to get it on. Roach says that after 8 years together that Manny Pacquiao is like a son to him.
He doesn't know what he would do without being in the gym but he says that if his Parkinson's doesn't let him be effective he'll walk away from training. Finally it's the pre-fight press conference and Mayweather Sr. takes to the microphone with some poetry. Roach is all business and the two fighters stare each other down. On Friday we are taken to the weigh in. Pacquiao looks ripped as always, and Hatton looks cut as well. "There's only one, Ricky Hatton" is the chant at the packed weigh in gathering. Both fighters make weight without any issues. We see a final montage of the two men, their families and all of their preparation. Who will emerge the victor after months of dedication and a lifetime of waiting for this moment? We'll see on Saturday night when Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao finally meet in the ring on HBO Pay-Per-View.
