A Fan's View from his Couch: UFC 100 Recap
Here is what I was left pondering after last night, who would you rather be? A man on a safari being mauled by a wild tiger, or Mike Bisbing after being mauled by Dan Henderson? Personally, I'd say the man on the safari because he didn’t spend months talking "stuff" on the tiger!
Dan Henderson vs. Michael BisbingThe above sentence about says all there is to be said, aside from that right cross and consequential elbow is by far the knockout of the year and I'm excited for "UFC Knockouts 8" to see it again and again! Next up for Bisbing? Hendo said it best, he falls down the list and maybe he and Thales Leites can fight for the "Battle of Respect" card. As for Dan, simple, he fights Anderson Silva and tries to build off of the fact that he is the only one to have ever won a round off of the Spider!
GSP vs. Thiago AlvesHow good is George? Pretty damn good! Torn groin or not, GSP totally dominated a man who has destroyed the rest of the UFC’s 170 pound division’s top ten. St. Pierre spent 25 minutes showing us why he will rule the Welterweight division for years, yes years, to come. I have no clue who to tell you he should fight next, maybe Anderson Silva if he doesn't immediately fight Dan Henderson. If Dan and Anderson go head to head, it should be Mike Swick as GSP vs. Swick would be a fast-paced fight that would never go the full 5 rounds, so here’s to seeing GSP vs. AKA part 3.
Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir Unless the UFC gets Fedor soon, Brock may run the Heavyweight division for awhile. He walked through Mir after Frank dominated Nog. So if you break down the division over the 4 fight mini-tourney Lesnar owned Randy, Mir owned Nog, and Lesnar owned Mir, so who is left? BEEP BEEP BEEP, that is Dana White's SUV of choice backing up to Fedor's house full of Ben Franklins. That is all that is left for Brock at this point. As for Mir, I'd like to see him fight the Cain Velasquez vs. Shane Carwin winner or the Randy Couture vs. Nog winner, but with as bad as his face looked don't be surprised if NSAC doesn't put him on suspension.
