Forrest Petz to face Brian Foster at UFC Fight Night 22

UFC Welterweights Forrest Petz & Brian Foster to face off on September 15, 2010

 
Forrest Petz defeated Luigi Fioravanti at UFC Fight Night 10 and has a 2-4 mark in 6 career UFC fights.

ProFighting-fans.com has confirmed that Forrest "The Meat Cleaver" Petz will once again set foot inside the Octagon to take on Brian Foster (13-5, 1-2 UFC) on September 15, 2010 at UFC Fight Night 22. The UFC Fight Night will be televised on Spike TV and will preceed the season premier of the new season of The Ultimate Fighter.

Petz, a 6-fight veteran of the UFC, has amassed a 24-8 career MMA record and is 2-4 in his 6 UFC fights. Cleverly nicknamed "The Meat Cleaver," Petz defeated Luigi Fioravanti at UFC Fight Night 10 (pictured) and Sam Morgan at UFC Fight Night 6. Petz also holds a very impressive win over Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy, the most recent challenger to lose to Georges St-Pierre for the UFC's Welerweight title.

Most recently Petz fought Daniel Roberts (10-1, 1-1 UFC) at UFC 116 on July 3, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The fight ended in a Split Decision victory for Roberts as the judges scored the bout 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 to give Roberts his first win with the UFC.

At 34 years old, Petz is the reigning NAAFS Welterweight Champion fighting out of the Strong Style Martial Arts & Training Center in Independence, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. He was expected to defend his 170 pound title in Cleveland at NAAFS: Rock 'N Rumble in late August, but instead took the fight with Daniel Roberts with about 3 weeks to prepare. Petz told ProFighting-fans.com in a live February 2010 interview that he hoped for a rematch with Dan Hardy should Hardy lose to GSP. While that did happen Petz will once again have an opportunity to fight for MMA's premier organization and the paths of Forrest Petz and Dan Hardy could indeed meet again one day.
