The Triangle Choke: ICF Fight Club

The ICF will officially open its doors on Friday, July 24th for the official weigh leading up to Stacked. Stacked will feature Cincinnati area superstars Chad Hinton, Ron Mitchell and Jim Davis. The Fight Club is located at Longworth Hall, 700 W Pete Rose Way in Cincinnati, OH. The Fight Club will host MMA events on a regular basis and also host viewing parties for all major MMA Events. The Fight Club will include a large projection screens and a full service bars. I spent some time with owner Steve Stanton as he prepared to launch the new venture.

SD- How often do you plan on having events here at the Fight Club?

SS- We are going to have events once a month on a Friday night. The events will be called Friday Night Fights.

SD- What are the plans for the debut on the 24th?

SS- The 24th will be the opening of the ICF Fight Club bar and we will have the weigh-ins here. We will have a band that night. It will basically be a grand opening party. Then on July 25th we will have our first event here.

SD- Speak about your plans for UFC viewing parties, the bar and all you have in store.

SS- We will not only have events here but we will have any pay-per-view event shown here whether it be UFC, Strikeforce or Affliction. We have two gigantic projection televisions, 50” televisions around the area; we have three full service bars, and an outside bar with a patio. It’s 20,000 square feet.

SD- What fighters do you currently have under contract and who do you anticipate fighting here at the Fight Club?

SS- July 25th will include Chad “H-Bomb” Hinton, Jeremy “Pony Boy” Pender, Ron Mitchell and Jim Davis. The event is titled Stacked for a good reason.

SD- What would you like to tell the MMA fans in the Cincinnati area?

SS- I want to invite everyone to come out on July 24 th to the grand opening. As you can see, there is no place anywhere like this. We will have the prettiest girls, best looking bouncers and best looking bartenders. I own this venue so we will have good beer prices, good food prices and a good deal on tickets. The doors will open at 5:00 for the grand opening. The weigh-ins will be at 7:00 and the band will start around 9:00. We will also have a live band after the fights on the 25th. We plan to bring in national bands in the future as well. We have a state of the art light and sound system. The thing that makes this different than other promotions is that we are willing to host other MMA organizations here as well. There seems to be this big war between promoters but I’m willing to have them come in and have events here.

This is a great way to view MMA up close and personal and to witness some future stars in action. For ticket information please visit www.icfmma.com. For more ICF Fight Club photos scroll to the bottom of this page.
