ICF Stacked Results & Fight Recaps
ICF unveiled its new Fight Club on July 25, 2009 in front of a packed house. The event will appear on Fox Sports South’s Fight Zone. Luke Zachrich was on hand to provide commentary. ICF Stacked Results - Amateur Fights:James Nguyen vs. Eric Moell - BantamweightA tremendous fight with Moell catching Nguyen in several submission attempts in each round. Nguyen showed tremendous heart by escaping and surviving taking the fight to a decision. The fight was filled with questionable officiating as the referee stood the fight up when each fighter had the dominant position. However, Moell proved to be too much in the stand up and on the ground. Official Results: Eric Moell via a Unanimous Decision
Brett Ewing vs. Jerry Hunt - LightweightEwing started aggressively taking Hunt down right after the bell. Hunt quickly gave up his back. Hunt managed to fight off Ewing but only briefly as Ewing sunk in a RNC Official Decision: Ewing via tap out due to a RNC :51 into the 1st round
Joe Maiani vs. Wesley Barrentine - 160 lbs A tremendous fight as Maiani made his fight debut. Maiani had some impressive take downs but didn’t establish dominant position. Barrentine caught Maiani in several chokes during the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Maiani showed incredible heart by not tapping out and making it through to force a decision. Official Decision: Wesley Barrentine via a split decision
Jimmy Brickler vs. Moses Hatfield - Welterweight After a quick skirmish in the stand up Hatfield gained top position and landed a RNC forcing Brickler to tap out. Official Decision: Hatfield via tap out due to a RNC :43 into the 1st round
Tommy Black vs. Jon Gill - 195lbs Jon Gill controlled the 1st round with several submission attempts. In the 2nd, Gill from the bottom, swept Black and ended up on top. From there, Gill started a wicked ground and pound forcing the official to step in. Official Decision: Gill via TKO due to strikes
Brandon Demastes vs. Justin Hunt - Welterweight Demastes charged Hunt landing several big strikes. He jumped on Hunt on the ground and continued the onslaught forcing the referee to jump in. Official Decision: Demastes via TKO due to strikes :33 into the 1st round
Lance Vinson vs. George Oiler - Middleweight Both fighters took some heavy shots in the standup. Oiler tried several submission attempts from the bottom until the fight stood back up. After an exchange Oiler grabbed a guillotine choke forcing Vinson to tap out. Official Decision: Oiler via tap out due to a guillotine choke midway through the 1st round
ICF Stacked Results - Professional Fights:
Jeremy “Pony Boy” Pender vs. Jesse Grindstaff - BantamweightThe fight, surprisingly stayed on the feet with both fighters feeling each other out. Pender landed several strikes knocking Grindstaff to the mat. Pender pounced with a fierce ground and pound attack forcing Grindstaff to tap out. Official Decision: Pender via tap out due to strikes 1:44 into the 1st round
Neal Craft vs. Michael Wright - WelterweightNeal Craft quickly took the fight to the ground using his strength advantage. Craft grabbed an arm bar forcing Wright to tap out. Official Decision: Craft via tap out due to an arm bar 1:26 into the 1st round
ICF STACKED MAIN EVENT: Chad Hinton vs. Dustin Walden - LightweightThe 1st round was slow at first then Hinton landed several strikes midway through the round. Hinton then assumed the top position landing several shots to Walden’s ribs. The 2nd round was more of the same as Hinton took Walden down and continued the ground and pound onslaught. In the 3rd round Walden landed a good kick but Hinton quickly took him to the ground. The referee stood the fight up and Hinton quickly took Walden to the ground. A very impressive and smart win for Hinton. Official Decision: Hinton wins via UD
