The Triangle Choke: ICF Turfwar Review & Results

Intimidation Cage Fighting (ICF) returned to Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky for a 13 bout card. The event featured UFC veteran Dan “The Sandman” Christison and two title bouts.

ICF Turfwar Results:

• 155lbs- San Burhle defeated George Conley via split decision
• 185lbs- Dan Spradlin defeated Tom Black via tap out due to a guillotine choke
• 135lbs- Alex Smith defeated the ever intense and dangerous Robert Nguyen via unanimous decision
• 175lbs- Yance Martin defeated Justin Hunt via submission due to a rear naked choke. Martin has an impressive physique and no doubt will be heard from down the road
• 135lbs- Matt Johnson defeated Tyler Brewer via submission in the 3rd round. My heart of the night performance. Johnsons survived a wicked arm bar in the 2nd round and then a rear naked choke in the same round. Brewer, not being able to finish Johnson in the 2nd round, was out of gas in the 3rd. Great bout…
• 155lbs- Eric Silz defeated Thomas Dumastas via tap out due to a rear naked choke in the 2nd round. This was the debut for both fighters
• 185lb- Mark Crawn defeated Keith Cunagin in the 1st rd. Crawn is a big 185lb fighter who will be heard from down the road
• Super Heavyweight Title Bout- Jim Davis defeated David Smith to win the inaugural Super Heavyweight Title. Davis is extremely aggressive and packs very powerful punches.
• 135 lb Amateur Title- Jeremy “The Ponyboy” Pender defeated Doug Balinger in a back and forth title via tap out due to a rear naked choke near the end of the third round. Pender, as always was very impressive. He will make his pro debut on April 11th at US Bank Arena
• 155lb Pro- Daniel Straus has little difficulty in defeating Tim Cook. Strauss is incredibly strong for his weight class and will be a tough out for anyone. Strauss will compete on April 11th
• Heavyweight- Dan “The Sandman” Christenson landed a devastating knee to Brian Peoples’ mid-section in the fight early in the 1st round. The Sandman will battle BJJ expert Marcio Cruz on April 11th
