UFC Legend Ken Shamrock Hosting Mixed Martial Arts Seminar in Cleveland

Intimidation Clothing & Powerhouse Gym present MMA seminar with Ken Shamrock

 

Cleveland, Ohio – July 18, 2010 – Intimidation MMA Clothing and Powerhouse Gym are proud to present UFC Legend Ken Shamrock for a one day only Mixed Martial Arts Clinic on Saturday, August 7, 2010. The Clinic is being organized and hosted by John Dixon, owner of the Berea Powerhouse where the Clinic is being held. John Dixon also owns Powerhouse Gyms in Elyria and North Olmsted, Ohio.

John Dixon states, "We're excited to have Ken Shamrock coming out to our gym for this training seminar. Ken is recognized as one of the world leaders in Mixed Martial Arts - not only for his achievements inside the cage, but for The Lion's Den as well."

Ken Shamrock is a professional American Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, a Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Hall of Fame Inductee, and professional wrestler. He has established himself as one of the biggest stars in the history of the sport, headlining over 18 main events in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Pride Fighting Championship Series. Ken Shamrock has set numerous pay per view records validating his drawing power as one of the most popular fighters in the sport. Inside MMA Magazine ranked Ken Shamrock as one of the Top 10 Greatest mixed martial arts fighters of all time.

On November 21, 2003, at UFC 45, Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock became the first inductees to the UFC Hall of Fame. The event celebrated the 10th anniversary of the UFC. UFC President Dana White said; “We feel that no two individuals are more deserving than Royce and Ken to be the charter members. Their contributions to our sport, both inside and outside the Octagon, may never be equaled."

Shamrock was the first UFC Superfight Champion; the title was eventually renamed the UFC Heavyweight Championship when weight categories were introduced to the UFC. [6] He was also the first MMA Heavyweight Champion in Japan, winning the title of King of Pancrase. During his reign as the UFC Superfight Champion, he was widely considered the #1 mixed martial artist in the world. Ken Shamrock also founded the Lion's Den mixed martial arts training camp. The Lion's Den became one of the most successful camps in mixed martial arts history and is famous for dominating the early scene mixed martial arts scene. He is also the older adopted brother of former UFC champion Frank Shamrock.

The event is being presented by Powerhouse Gym in partnership with Intimidation Clothing. Intimidation Clothing is a new brand of MMA inspired t-shirts & apparel that is made with MMA fans in mind. Powerhouse Gym was founded in 1975 by the brothers William and Norman Dabish in Highland Park, Michigan. The gym started out as a facility for people in the neighborhood to exercise and soon became a place for professional athletes to train. Some of the athletes who trained were professional boxer Tommy "Hitman" Hearns, Samir Baounout, Tom Platz and many others.
