"The Iceman" looks comfortable on Week 4 of "Dancing with the Stars"Chuck Liddell brings "carnage and mayhem" with his Two-Step in week 4 of DWTS
In Week 4 of the “DWTS” competition, UFC Light Heavyweight Hall-of-Famer, Chuck Liddell showed a new dance, featuring the Iceman flare in performing the two-step. Using his strength and agility to lift his dance partner Anna Trebunskaya, Liddell looked comfortable with his version of the country-style dance. The results were again mixed; the fans applauded the hard work of the fighter but the judges were critical with their scores. All decked out in a leather vest, cowboy hat, and blue jeans, “The Iceman” plowed through the country routine as fellow UFC pioneer, Dan Henderson, watched from the front row. His lifts were without a doubt the highlight of the dance, but looked most “at-home” of all four of his dances with this week's performance. His weakness was his footwork, which has been the toughest part for him to adapt to.
The judges, in what is becoming a weekly habit, praised Liddell, but were not as complimentary with their scores. Chuck gathered a total of 17 points out of a possible 30, which placed him ninth out of the eleven remaining participants. His position was similar to last week when he placed tenth out of thirteen. As far as the constructive criticism, Len Goodman was first this week to hand it out when he said: “There’s a novelty value about you because you don’t expect you to be able to dance and so that’s good. But eventually you’ve got to come down to the fact that this is a dance competition and your quality of dancing isn’t there.” The other two judges were more complimentary with their comments: “You bring carnage and mayhem in everything you do but yet it still managed to look somehow a two-step. I don’t believe it, said Bruno Tonioli.”
Carrie Ann Inaba agreed, saying, “What I love about you is that you may not have a lot of grace but you never let the dance beat you.” Actress Melissa Joan Hart joined singer/actress Mya at the top of the list this week, each earning 28 points out of 30. Former Dallas Cowboys wide-receiver Michael Irvin and professional snowboarder Louie Vito struggled, scoring lower than Liddell with totals of 16.
