ICF 13 took place on August 21, 2009 at the ICF Fight Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. ProFighting-fans.com is was live in Cincinnati providing live updates & results at ICF 13 with editor-in-Chief Scott Dryden blogging live at the event. In addition to the official ICF 13 results listed below, Dryden has also provided his recap of the event as well as photos from ICF 13.

ICF held its second event at the new fight club and 13th event overall with 6 amateur title fights on the line. The card featured Marcus Finch vs. George Oiler for the 185lb title, Jim Davis vs Markeith Gillis for the Super Heavyweight title and a main event for the 205lb title as Mark Crawn faced champion Kevin Barton.

Fight of the night: Finch vs. Oiler was a classic bout. Finch did the most damage and won via a unanimous decision. This is a fight that should have been held as a professional title fight with 5-5 minute rounds.

Dud of the night: Jim Davis vs. Markeith Gillis. This was sure to be a very exciting fight with two behemoths slugging it out but an shoulder injury to Gillis ended the fight quickly. Davis does continue an impressive streak of not having any fighter make it out of the 1st round against him. Like many fans, I believe Davis should cut weight down to the Heavyweight division and turn pro. The competition is much better there and would certainly test Davis’ skills.

Upset of the night: A close call between Jeremy Myers upsetting Ben McQueary and Mark Crawn upsetting Kevin Barton but Crawn’s upset gets the nod. Barton is a strong fighter but Crawn used technical skill in apply a tight triangle choke forcing Barton to tap out.

Fighter of the night: Tyler Johnson. Johnson may not look like a fighter but he is as tough as nails and a very smart fighter to boot. Johnson completely dominated a very good fighter in Yancey Martin. Johnson will be very difficult for anyone to beat in the 170lb division.

Interesting Note: Following Finch’s impressive victory, Chris “The Action Man” Curtis called out Finch stating he wants Finch when he decides to turn pro. This would be an excellent pro fight. Here’s to hoping it happens…

A great night of action at the ICF Fight Club in Cincinnati, OH.
