ProFighting-fans.com was in attendance to cover the event live with Editor-in-Chief Scott Dryden live blogging the results on our live MMA BigShow blog. The main event featured former UFC fighter Junie Browning defeating Scott Cornwell and showing the classless behavior that he is known for after the fight. The final MMA BigShow Onslaught results are listed below after our recap of the event.
In front of a packed out at the Belterra Casino in Indiana Junie Browning made his much-anticipated return to the cage. Browning was recently kicked out of the UFC for his actions outside of the cage. Known as a malcontent and polarizing figure, Browning, upon his release from the UFC, promised to be a different person and vowed to cash in on a second chance. Unfortunately for him, his opponent, and all the fans in attendance it was more of the same from Browning. Following his victory over Scott Cornwell, who was in only his second professional fight, Browning displayed antics that should have him banned from the sport. Not only did his actions take away from Cornwell’s post-fight interview, he was disrespectful to the sport as a whole and to the entire crowd. Junie showed a part of his anatomy that sums up his career and his character, his ass. He jokingly pulled down his trunks and walked around with a full moon showing. Incredibly, his coach Shawn Tompkins sat idly by with a smile on his face while Browning continued to show up his opponent. I personally lost all respect for Tompkins as a trainer; that explains why he is no longer at Xtreme Couture. Finally, Roger Bowling told him to pull them up (a few expletives included). It is a shame that Bowling didn’t deck the classless Browning. Junie then made derogatory remarks regarding women lining up for him after the fight. If Junie’s only hope is to be a big fish in a small pond, he has a chance. If he has aspirations of being on the big stage, dramatic changes will have to be made. To all promoters out there, take my advice do not sign Junie Browning. With his actions and remarks he should never be allowed to compete again. In other action at the MM BigShow event, Mojo Horne got back on the winning track with an impressive victory over Kevin Barkdull in the middleweight division. Mojo took the fight to the ground and pulled out a tight Rear nake Choke to end the fight in Round 1. The best amateur fighter in the Cincinnati area entered the cage for the 17th time. It was more of the same for Chris “The Samurai” Bennett as he finished Brian Karmolinsk 49 seconds into the 1st round with a devastating series of punches. With the victory Bennett moves to 16-1 - it is time for the talented 19 year old to turn pro.
