UFC Rumors: Future UFC Fight Card Rumors
A look at upcoming UFC fight card rumors for UFC 117, UFC 118, UFC 120 and more
The summer of 2010 appears to be getting more and more exciting in the world of MMA with the UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator and other promotions featuring some fantastic match-ups. We take a look at several UFC rumors for notable UFC fights at future events throughout the summer and into the fall of 2010 and, in the case of a potential Randy Couture versus James Toney fight, the introduction of a boxing champion to the MMA world.
UFC 115 Fight Card Rumors
UFC 115 appears to be finalized as the rumored Jon Fitch vs Thiago Alves rematch on the UFC 115 fight card was nothing but a rumor as it seems that fight will not take place until UFC 117. UFC 115 will feature 11 fights including two Spike TV televised preliminary fights with the main card televised on Pay Per View.

UFC 116 Fight Card Rumors
UFC 116 on July 3, 2010 looks to be an awesome event, but the fight card is top-heavy, literally. With the UFC Heavyweight Championship unification bout between Brock Lesnar and Interim Champ Shane Carwin atop the UFC 116 fight card, all other announced fights are rather unimpressive. Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Wanderlei Silva is a solid fight but it's really not a great #2 fight and Kurt Pellegrino vs George Sotiropoulos has not yet been announced. An injury to Cheick Kongo killed the rumored fight with TUF 10 winner Roy Nelson, and few of the rumored undercard bouts are impressive. We may see the announced Matt Brown vs. Chris Lytle fight moved up to the PPV-televised portion due to the lack of name fighters on the card as a whole.
UFC on Versus 2 Fight Card Rumors
UFC on Versus 2 will take place on Sunday, August 1, 2010 pitting fast-rising Jon "Bones" Jones against UFC veteran Vladimir Matyushenko. Jones of course destroyed Brandon Vera in the main event of the UFC's first event on Versus in March. Matyushenko is 24-4 in his MMA career and 5-2 in the UFC with Jones 10-1, 4-1 UFC with the lone loss being the DQ loss to Matt Hammil. Also rumored on the card is a fight between Jim Miller and Gleison Tibau as well as Takanori Gomi vs. Joe Stevenson. Honestly, the UFC on Versus August 1 fight card looks better than the UFC 116 card, minus the Lesnar v Carwin bout of course.
UFC 117 Fight Card Rumors
On August 7, UFC 117 is expected to take place in Oakland, California, and while ProFighting-fans.com MMA writier Curt Heinrichs has listed options for Anderson Silva's next fight, it appears that the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion will be facing Chael Sonnen atop the UFC 117 fight card. In a recent interview with Pro Fighting Fans, Sonnen stated in regards to Silva"I'm not sure what his deal is, but I assure you, he won't fight me unless Dana makes him."
The rumored UFC 117 fight card currently, on paper, looks stacked with awesome fights. It is now being rumored that the rematch of Jon Fitch versus Thiago Alves will be on this card. With a 12-1 UFC mark and his lone UFC loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 87, the UFC continues to hold Fitch back and screw him over for less worthy and deserving opponents to fight GSP. If Fitch can defeat Alves again it would make sense that he would get another shot at GSP, but Dana holds grudges and Fitch, despite his knack for winning UFC fights, is obviously in Dana's dog house.
Also rumored on the UFC 117 fight card is Junior Dos Santos vs. Roy Nelson in a heavyweight battle of fast-rising big men. The winner could be a fight or two away from a title shot.
UFC 118 Fight Card Rumors
UFC 118 looks to be the first UFC event held in Massachusetts on August 28, 2010 and it is expected to have a heavy local flavor. UFC lightweights Kenny Florian & Joe Lauzon, both champions of the bring MMA to Massachusetts campaign, both appear to be fighting on a stacked card. Rumors point toward UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar facing BJ Penn in a rematch of their UFC 112 fight atop the UFC 118 fight card. Also expected is a Gray Maynard versus Kenny Florian matchup which will surely crown the #1 contender in the 155 pound division. To top it all off, it is rumored that Randy Couture will carry the MMA banner versus former boxing champion James "Lights Out" Toney. If the Couture vs Toney at UFC 118 rumors are true, this event may prove to be the most impactful UFC event of the summer, even bigger than Lesnar's expected return at UFC 116.
The most recent addition to the UFC 118 fight card rumors is Nate Marquardt versus Rousimar Palhares and Marcus Davis vs. Nate Diaz.
UFC 120 Fight Card Rumors
Rumors point to UFC 120 in London, England on October 2, 2010 televised on Spike TV. While little is known about the event the names current associated with UFC 120 fight card rumors are Dan Hardy and Paul Sass both fighting at the event.
