Billy Vaughan to face Jorge Gurgel at Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson in Columbus

Billy Vaughan replaces Tyler Combs to face Jorge Gurgel on March 5 Strikeforce card in Columbus

Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson has seen a number of changes in the weeks leading up to their first event in Columbus, Ohio leaving matchmakers busy behind the scenes. The latest of those changes is Tyler "Superman" Combs (14-5) has pulled out of his fight with UFC veteran Jorge Gurgel this Saturday night and will be replaced by Billy Vaughan. Reports are that Combs has suffered an undisclosed injury and has been scratched from the lightweight match-up with Gurgel (13-7 MMA, 3-4 UFC, 1-2 Strikeforce) scheduled for Saturday night's event in Columbus, Ohio. Vaughan, normally a featherweight, will fight Gurgel on short notice and is 9-5 as a pro. Vaughan most recently lost in his bid for the NAAFS Featherweight title via submission to Donny Walker at NAAFS: Night of Champions in December.

The Gurgel vs. Vaughan fight is one of six preliminary fights scheduled for the event which takes place at Nationwide Arena in Columbus on Saturday night at 7:30 pm. Other rumored replacements included Joey Carroll, Cody Stevens and the aforementioned Donny Walker.
