Strikeforce Nashville Weigh In Results

Strikeforce Nashville "Henderson vs Shields" Weigh Ins complete for fights on Saturday, April 17

 

Strikeforce Nashville is set for Saturday night, April 17 with the live CBS televised fights at 9 pm ET. Three championship fights will be televised headlined by the Middleweight title fight between Dan Henderson and current Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Jake Shields. Also fighting on the televised portion will be Gilbert Melendez, the reigning Strikeforce Lightweight Champion, versus Shinya Aoki, the WAMMA Lightweight Champion. The other televised fight will feature Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Gegard Mousasi facing Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal.

The Strikeforce Nashville weigh ins took place on Friday in Nashville with several other fighters under contract with Strikeforce in attendance including Andrei Arlovski, Nick Diaz, Bobby Lashley and Brett Rogers. The weigh ins featured with no real surprises on the entire fight card. Middleweight champ Jake Shields weighed 184.75 pounds with challenger Dan Henderson 185 lbs. Lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez tipped the scales at 154.5 pounds with challenger Shinya Aoki also at 154.5 lbs. Meanwhile, Gegard Mousasi weighed in at 204.5 lbs and challenger King Mo Lawal 204.25.

The preliminary card features seven fights with a flyweight (125 lb) fight between Dustin Ortiz and Justin Pennington, a featherweight fight (145 lbs) between Thomas Campbell and Cody Floyd, a welterweight bout (170 lbs) between Andrew Uhrich and Dustin West, a catchweight fight bewteen Zach Underwood and Hunter Worsham at 180 lbs, a middleweight bout (185 lbs) between Jason "Mayhem" Miller between Tim Stout and two light heavweight bouts (205 lbs) featuring Chris Hawk vs. Ovince St. Preux and Josh Schockman vs. Cale Yarbrough.
