Follow the UFC 110 fight card results at ProFighting-fans.comPredictions, results & fight recaps provided for every UFC 110 fight on Saturday night, February 20
Just two weeks after the highly-anticipated UFC 109 card, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will invade Australia for the first time ever when UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez kicks off on Saturday, February 20 from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. Should you be unable to order the Pay Per View broadcast of the event, head over to ProFighting-fans.com the night of the fights for live, round-by-round coverage and the official UFC 110 fight results for the entire fight card. With a main event pitting MMA legend and former Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira against the fast-rising, undefeated phenomenon in Cain Velasquez, UFC 110 is another must-see event. Fresh off of a brilliant, brutal three-round war with former Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture in August, Nogueira will look to extend his winning streak to two in a row, and climb up the UFC Heavyweight Rankings, by putting down the young upstart out of American Kickboxing Academy.
Since joining the UFC in April of 2008, heavyweight contender Cain Velasquez went from relative unknown to one of the most hyped and exciting heavyweight prospects to burst onto the scene in the last decade. Having compiled an easy 5-0 record inside the Octagon—with the most recent pair coming against respected heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Ben Rothwell respectively—Velasquez has established himself as a fighter to watch as well as a probable contender for the heavyweight belt within the next two years. In the co-featured bout of the evening, the local population will be given a rare treat when they get to watch one of the most notorious and decorated MMA fighters in the history of the sport, Wanderlei Silva, compete inside the Octagon for the first time since losing a hard-fought decision against former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin. Standing opposite from Silva on February 20 will be none other than British superstar Michael Bisping, who will look to make his case for a title shot with an emphatic stoppage of a true legend in the sport. While Silva has certainly seen better days—he is currently riding a two-fight losing streak, having lost five of his last six bouts overall—he still remains one of the most dangerous fighters in the world, and his drop to 185lbs could herald the beginnings of a complete career resuscitation. Undoubtedly aware of the fear his opponent generated in Japan years ago, Bisping is confident that he can put an end to “The Axe Murderer’s” UFC run once and for all, using the momentum built of off a November TKO victory over Denis Kang to fuel him in training. Overall, UFC 110 promises to answer a lot of questions surrounding the heavyweight and middleweight divisions going into the Spring of 2010. Be sure to check out ProFighting-fans.com’s UFC 110 predictions as well as their official coverage of the entire UFC 110 main card on Satruday, February 20.
