UFC 116 Weigh In ResultsUFC 116 Weigh Ins complete for fights on Saturday, July 3 including Lesnar vs Carwin
UFC 116 is set for Saturday night, July 3 in Las Vegas with the live Spike TV televised preliminaries at 9 pm and the PPV televised fights beginning at 10 pm ET. All fighters have weighed in for the big UFC 116 event which is headlined the UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar facing Interim Champ Shane Carwin in a title unification bout. Both men weighed in at exactly 265 pounds for tomorrow night's big event. The UFC 116 weigh ins were rather tame without significant issue, yet another statement of the discipline of the UFC's employees. In the co-main event bewtween Yoshihiro Akiyama and Chris Lebem, Akiyama weighed in at 185 pounds with Leben a pound heavier at 186. The winner will undoubtedly move up in our UFC rankings for the Middleweight division. The remainder of the PPV televised card features Stephan Bonnar and Krzysztof Soszynski in a rematch of a controversial fight with both fighters weighing in tonight at 205 lbs. Kurt Pellegrino weighed 155 with opponent George Sotiropoulos at 156 lbs and Chris Lytle was 171 lbs with opponent Matt Brown at 170 pounds for their UFC 116 battle.
The preliminary card features six fights with two televised on Spike TV. In the Spike TV fights a heavyweight bout between Brendan Schaub and Chris Tuchscherer saw Schaub tip the scales at 238 lbs versus 255 for Tuchscherer. The entertaining Seth Petruzelli weighed 205 lbs with opponent Ricardo Romero at 206 pounds. The non-televised prelims feature Kendall Grove at 184 vs. Goran Reljic at 186 lbs and Dave Branch at 185 vs. Gerald Harris at 185 in two middleweight battles. Forrest Petz makes his return to the Octagon and weighed in at 170 lbs for his fight with Daniel Roberts who weighed 169 lbs and Jon Madsen weighed 254 lbs for his battle with Karlos Vemola who was just 222 pounds at the weigh-ins.
