UFC 127 (February 26 th PPV) lacks the depth and interest of past cards but does feature two well known combatants in the main event- Jon Fitch and BJ Penn. Fitch is one of the most unheralded mixed-martial artists in the UFC- yet he continues to impress. Fitch is 23-3 with an astonishing 13-1 inside the UFC’s Octagon. In Penn, Fitch will face one of the all-time pound for pound greats. Penn is 16-7-1 overall going 3-3 in his last six. He moved from 155 to 170 after consecutive losses to current UFC Lightweight Champion, Frankie Edgar. In his return to 170, Penn shocked Matt Hughes with a 21 second KO victory at UFC 123.

This week we have pro fighters Chad Hinton, Matt Lindland and Luke Zachrich pick the winners. But first, I’ll throw in my picks- I believe Fitch’s size will be way too much for Penn. Fitch’s strength combined with his elite conditioning will weigh heavily on the former UFC Lightweight Champion. Bisping, although in somewhat boring fashion, will cruise to a somewhat easy victory over Jorge Rivera. George Sotiropoulos may be the best lightweight in all of the UFC- after he dominates Dennis Siver, he should face the winner of Edgar/Maynard. Condit vs. Lytle would have been a great match-up had Condit not been hurt.. Lytle should get the easy victory over Brian Ebersole . Chris Camozzi will defeat Noke via split decision in a very close fight. Now onto the pros:

Chad Hinton (8-3 Bellator):

Jon Fitch vs. B.J. Penn -   Fitch TKO:  Fitch’s wrestling, improved striking and strength. Penn looked good against Hughes but I believe Fitch is twice the fighter Hughes is

Michael Bisping vs. Jorge Rivera-  Bisping Dec: Bisping’s mobility, speed and conditioning will be too much for Rivera

Dennis Siver vs. George Sotiropoulos- Sotiropoulus Sub:  Sotiropoulus will be able to elude Siver’s stand up game with good footwork, movement and counter striking. He gets the fight to the ground and submits Siver. Siver will either get frustrated and make a mistake or gas out

Brian Ebersole vs. Chris Lytle  – Lytle KO:

Chris Camozzi vs. Kyle Noke  - Noke Dec:  Noke is 1-1 against Sotiropoulus and has a draw against Lombard (Bellator Middleweight Champ). This one could go either way

Matt Lindland (22-8 Strikeforce)-

Jon Fitch vs. B.J. Penn: This one is tough because it’s two of my favorite fighters of all time. From a fan perspective this fight definitely deserves to headline it unfortunate the rest of the card is so lackluster. This is a pick-em  match for me I can see ways that either guy can win this bout I am going to buck the trend and pick BJ to win by submission

Michael Bisping vs. Jorge Rivera: Bisping continues to be the best heal in the business but does that mean anyone really going to pay to see this TUF show contestant co-headline a card? There is no denying that this brash pseudo gangster is on the rise as he continues to improve his skills. However, I will not be cheering for Bisping as he walks away with the victory over Rivera.

Dennis Siver vs. George Sotiropoulos: I would pick Sotiropoulos over most anyone at 155. I see this match ending with Sotiropoulos subbing Silver the first time the fight goes to the ground

Luke Zachrich (10-2 Bellator)-

Jon Fitch over BJ Penn: A grinder out decision ala GSP vs Penn

Bisping over Rivera:- A decision victory in typical Bisping fashion

Sotiropoulos over Siver: Submission Round 1

Lytle over Ebersole: TKO in Round 2

Noke over Camozzi: I have no idea how this one will end but believe Noke will get the victory
