On October 24, 2009 the UFC returned with UFC 104: Machida vs Shogun as Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida made his first title defense against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. The UFC 104 fight card also featured a matchup of UFC Heavyweight contenders as undefeated Cain Velasquez took on former IFL Heavyweight Ben Rothwell.
