WEC 48 Weigh In Results

WEC 48 Weigh Ins complete for fights on Saturday, April 24

WEC 48 is set for Saturday night, April 24 with the live Spike TV preliminary fights beginning at 9 pm ET and the PPV televised fights beginning at 10 pm ET. WEC 48 is possibly the most stacked fight card in the history of the World Extreme Cagefighting organization featuring WEC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo in his first title defense facing former 145 pound champ Urijah Faber and WEC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson will once again face Donald "The Cowboy" Cerrone with the 155 pound strap on the line. The PPV televised card continues with former Featherweight champ Mike Brown facing UFC vet Manny Gamburyan, thilling KO artist Anthony Njokuani facing Shane Roller and Antonio Banuelos versus Scott Jorgensen.

The WEC 48 weigh ins took place on Friday in Sacramento with no real surprises on the entire fight card. Jose Aldo hit 145 pounds on the dot with Urijah Faber a half pound lighter at 144.5 lbs. Benson Henderson tipped the scales at 155 pounds with Donald Cerrone also a half pound lower at 154.5 pounds. Both Mike Brown and Manny Gamburyan weighed in at 156 pounds while Anthony Njokuani also hit 156 lbs and his opponent Shane Roller was 155.5 lbs. To round out the PPV televised portion of the WEC 48 fight card Antonio Banuelos and Scott Jorgensen both weighed in at 156 pounds.

The preliminary card features six fights featuring three featherweight bouts, two bantamweight bouts and a single lightweight fight with two of these fights televised on Spike TV at 9 pm ET. The two Spike TV fights will feature a featherweight bout between Leonard Garcia (145 lbs) and Chan Sung Jung (145.5 lbs) and a lightweight bout featuring Anthony Pettis (155.5 lbs) vs Alex Karalexis (156 lbs). The final four fights of the night will not be televised and did not feature any surprises either. With 5 of the 11 fights in the featherweight division including a title fight at 145 pounds, there will surely be need to shake up ProFighting-fans.com's WEC Featherweight Rankings after the fights.
