UFC 119 Pay-Per-View Play-By-Play: Mirko Filipovic (27-7-2, 1 NC) vs. Frank Mir (13-5)

1st round – This main event is going to have Herb Dean as it’s referee.  Cro Cop hits Mir with a low blow, and after a couple of moments, the action is restarted.  Cro Cop fakes a left hand and has Mir on his heels.  Cro Cop misses with a right head kick attempt.  Cro Cop puts a right jab in Mir’s face.  Mir nails Cro Cop with a knee and an elbow while dragging him to the fence.  Mir is attempting to put Cro Cop on the mat.  Cro Cop defends and backs away from Mir.  Mir lands a low kick and engages with Cro Cop pressing his back against the octagon fence.  Mir hits with a knee up the middle and then Herb Dean seperates the two and resets.  Cro Cop nails Mir with a kick to the side of the thigh of Mir.  Mir grabs Cro Cop and presses him against the octagon fence as the bell sounds.  (Mir 10-9)

2nd round – The 2nd round is underway with Cro Cop blocking a Mir jab.  Mir hits with a left hand and then backs up.  Mir hits again but this time with an inside leg kick.  Cro Cop hits Mir with a left hand to the face but Mir jumps back on and hits Cro Cop with a punch.  Cro Cop opens up and puts a left hand in the face of Mir.  Mir gets a body lock and presses Cro Cop up against the octagon fence.  Mir is trying to stomp on Cro Cop’s feet but Cro Cop defends and Herb Dean seperates the two.  Mir hits Cro Cop low but the action doesnt stop.  Cro Cop barely grazes Mir with a left hand.  This time Mir pushes forward and presses Cro Cop against the octagon fence once again.  Herb Dean is warning the two to start the work but not much action resumes.  Mir is trying to land some knees but cant find a home for many of them.  Mir still has under hooks and is trying to take Cro Cop to the ground.  Herb Dean seperates once again.  Mir nails Cro Cop with a left but Cro Cop hits Mir with a kick to the body.  Mir misses with a left hand and races past Cro Cop as the end of the 2nd round comes.  (Mir 10-9)

3rd round – The final round is underway and both fighters touch gloves.  The crowd continues to boo loudly but the fighters continue to show patience.  Cro Cop fakes a shoot and hits with an open left.  Mir comes in and engages with a left of his own.  Mir is backed up with a left hand and then catches Mir and throws him to the ground.  Cro Cop misses with a left and right punch combo.  Cro Cop finds a home for a left hand and then blocks a takedown.  Cro Cop lands a decent left hand that jerks Mir’s head back.  Mir ties Cro Cop up and presses him against the octagon fence once again.  Herb Dean warns the fighters to continue and Mir tries a takedown.  He fails with the attempt and Cro Cop lands a knee.  Herb Dean seperates and reset in the center.  Mir lands a left hand and Cro Cop misses with a right hand.  Mir hits with a kick and a right hand and then presses Cro Cop agains the fence.  Mir finally lands a knee to the fence that puts Cro Cop on his back and out.

UFC 119 Pay-Per-View Play-By-Play: Ryan Bader (12-0) vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-3)

1st round – This light-heavyweight bout is going to be refereed by Josh Rosenthal.  Bader comes out pressing forward, but Nog makes him backpedal with some wild strikes.  Bader fakes some shoots and pushes Nog against the fnece.  Nog has his left hand blocked and then his second left blocked again.  Nog misses with a wild left hand, and makes Bader miss.  Bader shoots in and gets a takedown.  He lands a heavy right hand that bounces his head off the ground.  Nog survives and gets Bader in his guard.  Nog is trying to keep Bader in tight, however Bader is trying to utilize elbows.  Nog holds on to Bader’s head from the guard position.  Nog lands an elbow from his back as Bader continues to hit with several shot to the body.  Nog gets back up and squares off yet again.  Nog hits with a leg kick to the body of Bader.  Bader catches a leg of Nog’s but has his takedown stuffed.  Nog nails Bader and hurts him.  He hits Bader again right before the bell with a sharp left hand.  (Bader 10-9)

2nd round – They come out for the 2nd round and Bader hits with a low kick first.  Nog answers with a sharp body kick and then hits with a left hand.  Bader nails Nog with an overhand left.  Nog hits with a right hand and then ducks under a left hand of Bader’s.  Bader shoots in and hits with a right hand.  Nog nails Bader with a left hand and then dances around waiting for Bader to come at him.  Bader catches Nog off guard and gets a takedown.  He tags Nog with some light left hands and then allows Nog to get up.  Nog comes right at him but gets hit with a left hand.  Nog nails Bader with a knee but Bader comes back and hits with a right hand of his own.  Bader pushes Nog against the octagon fence.  Nog misses with a knee but hits Bader with a nice combo before the bell ends the round.  (Nogueira 10-9)

3rd round – The final frame is underway with Nog hitting Bader in the eye with a glove.  Josh Rosenthal steps in and allows Bader some time to recover.  He says he doesnt need the doc and continues to fight.  Bader hits with a left but Nog answers with a right hand.  Nog presses Bader up against the octagon fence.  As Bader shoots in, Nog tries a knee to the stomach.  Nog is taken to the ground but immediately gets up and tags Bader several times with strikes.  Bader hits with a left hand but is hit with a left from Nogueira.  Nog uses a jab to get some space between the two fighters.  Nog hits again with a left hand but Bader answers with a left hand.  Nog then stuffs a takedown, however is taken to the ground and on his back.  Nog controls Bader’s arms from his back and works with Bader in his guard.  (Bader 10-9)

UFC 119 Pay-Per-View Play-By-Play: Chris Lytle (39-17-4) vs. Matt Serra (17-6)

1st round – Herb Dean is the referee for this welterweight rematch pitting a former champ against a fight of the night regular.  Lytle definetly has the crowd behind him as he is the clear cut favorite as far as the crowd is concerned.  Serra comes out hunched over and Lytle has his upright stance.  Serra comes out trying to work the body of Lytle, he is tagged with a right hand however.  Lytle goes down and gets on Serra’s level trying to land his straight jabs.  Serra has his body shots blocked and ducks away from Lytle’s uppercuts.  Serra pushes forward and hits Lytle with a right hand.  Lytle escapes and resets in the center of the cage.  Serra hits with a right hand that stumbles Lytle for a moment.  Serra is consistently finding a home with hiw uppercuts.  Lytle answers with an uppercut of his own and then hits with an overhand right.  Serra makes Lytle miss and hits with a couple of body shots before breaking free.  Lytle hits with a stiff left jab but Serra pushes forward.  He gets hit with several rights but Serra continues to come forward as the bell ends the round.  (Lytle 10-9)

2nd round – Serra looks beat up and Lytle looks fairly fresh as they come out for the 2nd round.  Serra connects with a couple of left jabs.  They now trade and take turns stumbling each other, Serra goes to a knee, gets up and rocks Lytle.  Lytle hits the body of Serra and then backs up and resets in front of Serra.  Lytle hits with a nice uppercut, but gets tagged with a left hand.  Lytle comes back and hits with several more shots to the face and body of Serra.  Serra looks to be rocked, but comes back and gets right back in there.  Lytle hits with a solid uppercut, but Serra hits with three body shots.  Serra is tagged with an uppercut to the chin.  Lytle is connecting with several shots, but Serra doesnt back away.  He gets tagged once again and seems to be ready to fall, he doesnt.  Lytle hits with a left hand and then hammers away with a right hand.  Lytle senses Serra in trouble and pushes forward, but cant finish him.  The round ends with both fighters swinging for the fences.  (Lytle 10-9)

3rd round – The last round is underway and both fighters have their battle marks.  Serra has Lytle on his heels but Lytle quickly recovers.  Serra goes for e takedown, but Lytle defends.  Serra just clips Lytle with a right hand, and follows that with a series of leg kicks.  Serra hits Lytle on the body and then ducks under an uppecut by Lytle.  Lytle lunges in and tags Serra with a left uppercut.  Serra hits with a leg kick but is then hit with a right hand by Lytle.  Serra hits with another leg kick and then works punches to the body of Lytle.  Lytle hits with a left hand and then backs away from Serra’s big right hand.  Lytle connects with a left hook that grazes Serra’s face.  Serra hits with another leg kick and then a superman punch.  Serra misses with a spinning back fist and gets clipped with a big left hand by Lytle.  Serra hits the body of Lytle and then misses with a head kick as the bell ends the fight.  (Serra 10-9)

UFC 119 Pay-Per-View Play-By-Play: Sean Sherk (37-4-1) vs. Evan Dunham (11-0)

1st round – The referee in charge of this contest is Rob Hinds, who gets them started with a clap of the hands.  Sherk takes his usual high guard stance, where Dunham comes out quick short and choppy movements.  Dunham is trying to change levels and hit Sherk with some combinationns.  Sherk takes Dunham down and Dunham has hold of Sherk’s neck.  Sherk is in trouble for a moment but finally gets out of it and breaths a sigh of relief.  Sherk stays on top and controls the action landing some short ground and pound strikes.  He now allows Dunham to get up, although he leans against him against the octagon fence.  Dunham breaks free, but Sherk goes right back in and picks Dunham up.  Sherk slams him to the ground and protects his neck this time.  Dunham gets up and Sherk has his neck caught again.  This time its closer, but Sherk gets out, gets back on top and cuts Dunham with a sharp elbow to the face.  Dunham scrambles but Sherk stays in tight and doesnt allow him to get up.  The ref calls a timeout and has the doctor look at the cut on Dunham’s face, the doctor says its OK and the action is back on.  Only eight seconds are able to run off and the bell ends the round.  (Sherk 10-9)

2nd round – The 2nd is on and Dunham continues to bleed down the face.  Sherk hits with a nice counter punch and the shoots in for the takedown.  Dunham catches Sherk in another guillotine, but Sherk squirms out and takes the back of Dunham.  Sherk stays on his back and uses knees to chop his opponent down.  Dunham gets up and makes his base wider trying to protect from the takedown attempt.  They drop to the ground and Dunham has Sherk’s neck.  Sherk escapes yet again and presses Dunham against the octagon fence.  Dunahm has Sherk’s neck as he is being presses against the fence.  They drop to the ground and Sherk ends up on top, however Dunham is able to get back to his feet rather easily.  Dunham breaks free and squares off in the center octagon.  Dunham hits with a left hand and then misses with a right.  They engage and Sherk goes in for the takedown, Dunham defends and breaks free.  Dunham hits with astraight left and then tags Sherk with a right hand.  Dunham hits with a knee to the face of Sherk as the round ends.  (Dunham 10-9)

3rd round – Dunham comes out and hurts Sherk with a head kick.  Sherk shoots in and pushes Dunham against the octagon where he takes a knee before going for the double leg takdown.  Sherk switches to a single leg takedown and then back to a double leg.  He waits for several moments and then converts on the takedown, but Dunham is able to get back to his feet rather easy.  Sherk presses Dunham against the octagon fence but is pushed away by Dunham.  Dunham ends his combo with a hard right hook that looks to have caused damage.  Dunham connects with several shots before Sherk drops and shoots and presses Dunham against the octagon fence.  Dunham goes in for the guillotine but cant convert and instead breaks free.  They square off and both land a couple of strikes.  Dunham seems to be landing more including a hard knee followed by another.  Sherk stands in front of him and takes some more shots.  Dunham hammers away and is gettting beat up by Dunham.  They continue to throw punches until the round ends.  (Dunham 10-9)

UFC 119 Pay-Per-View Play-By-Play: Jeremy Stephens (18-5) vs. Melvin Guillard (43-9-3, 1 NC)

1st round – Josh Rosenthal has this lightweight assignment, getting them going.  Stephens counters a right hand by knocking him to the ground.  Guillard is able to get up and reset in the center of the octagon.  Guillard comes forward connecting with a very low percentage of his strikes.  They both connect with kicks to the lower part of the body.  Guillard is demonstrating some amazing hand speed, and Stephens is trying to land the big one.  Stephens misses with a hard right hand and then backs away from an incoming Guillard.  Guillard is able to dance circles around Stephens, however it doesnt seem to be giving him an advantage right now.  Stephens misses with his first kick but hits with his next one, however is answered by a left hand from Guillard.  Stephens is insistent on utilizing his lower leg kicks, which he now connects with.  Guillard finishes by using his foot speed and trying to work his jab, although isnt able to land anything significant as the bell ends the round.  (Stephens 10-9)

2nd round – Stephens looks fresh coming out for the second round, Guillard looks somewhat fresh as well.  Stephens immediately lands a low leg kick that almost trips Guillard up.  Guillard lands a left hand and then misses with a heavy combination.  He moves in and hits with a solid body kick that stuns Stephens.  They engage but choose not to go to the ground, both back up and square off.  Stephens lands with a kick to the chest of Guillard, who is trying to land a consistent jab.  Guillard hits Stephens below the belt and has to give his opponent a break to recoup.  The action gets back on with Guillard attempting to connect to the body of Stephens.  Stephens answers Guillard’s right hand with another body kick.  This time Stephens takes his turn and kicks Guillard below the belt.  Guillard goes to the ground and is on his face.  After a few moments, Guillard is ready to continue.  Guillard misses over the top and is hit with a left uppercut by Stephens.  Guillard comes forward but misses with most of his attempts.  This time Stephens has his body kick blocked, and has to take a left hand for his troubles.  Guillard comes back with a low kick for himself as the bell ends the 2nd round.  (Guillard 10-9)

3rd round – The 3rd and final round brings the two together in the center of the octagon.  Again, Stephens hits with a low leg kick and Guillard chooses to throw his combinations.  Stephens makes Guillard back up with a kick to the body.  Stephens hits Guillard with a left hand and then gets pushed away as he comes in and gets tangled up.  Guillard comes in and is tagged with a kick to the abdomen, however Guillard answers with a punch to the stomach of Stephens.  Guillard fakes a shoot and tags Stephens with a left hand.  Stephens goes back to the kick and hits him with one to the chest.  Guillard slips and misses with a hard right hand, Stephens does the same.  Guillard grabs a single leg but then leaves go just as quick.  Stephens hits Guillard with a low leg kick and then hits with a punch to the body that has Guillard backpedaling.  Guillard quickly recovers and comes back at Stephens, who kicks him in the thigh.  Stephens hammers away with a right hand and they trade exchanges throughout the last ten seconds.  (Stephens 10-9)
