UFC 123 Pay-Per-View Play-by-Play: Maiquel “Big Rig” Falcao (25-3, 1 NC) vs. Gerald “Hurricane” Harris (16-2)

Tonight’s UFC 123 “Rampage vs. Machida”  live blog is brought to you by Fighters Guard MMA Agents and Intimidation MMA Apparel.

1st round – The official for this middleweight bout is Dan Mirgliotta.  The action is on and Harris jabs his right hand into the face of Falcao.  Harris misses with a big left hand, but then puts a right jab in Falcao’s face.  Again, Harris hits Falcao with a right hand.  Harris leaps but misses with a right hand.  The crows begins to show their displeasure with a chorus of boos, but both fighters continue to show patience.  Harris puts another right hand in Falcao’s face.  Harris is clipped and put to the ground with a knee.  Falcao is on top and begins to drop hammer fists to Harris’ head.  Falcao continues to pound away on Harris’ face and gets his arm under the neck of Harris.  Harris scrambles and then goes to the ground where Falcao gets an arm under the chin and almost chokes him out.  The bell saves Harris for the moment.  Falcao 10-9

2nd round – The 2nd round is on and Falcao looks confident.  Harris is dropped again  but gets up and swings away.  Falcao drops him a second time and takes his back.  Falcao gets his arm under the chin and is slipping it under .  Harris somehow scrambles and gets to his feet, but Falcao gets underhooks and presses Harris against the octagon fence.  They seperate and Harris shoots in for a takedown.  Harris goes in for a double leg takedown but Falcao defends for the moment.  Harris continues to work for the takedown, and gets it.  Harris then delivers a knee to the face of Falcao before they seperate once again.  Falcao lands a head kick and Harris shoots in for another takedown.  Falcao begins to hammer on Harris’ head with fists.  Falcao is dropping right hands on Harris’ head.  Harris is barely hanging on and looks to be stalling for the end of the second round.   They get up and the round ends with Harris looking very tired.  Falcao 10-9

3rd round – Harris looks very fatigued coming out for the final round, Falcao looks fresh.  Harris jumps in with a right hand but misses.  Harris circles around the octagon occasionally throwing a left hand.  Falcao is patient with his approach.  Harris continues to fake his takedowns but not show much offense.  Harris has his right hands blocked.  Falcao lands an inside leg kick as Harris hits with a left jab.  Harris misses with an uppercut and then backs off.  Harris misses with a left hand and then comes in with a combination but misses.  Not much action is going on and Harris shoots in.  Falcao defends the takedown and shakes Harris off.  Falcao misses with a head kick and Harris lands his.  The round ends with very little action.  Harris 10-9

UFC 123 Pay-Per-View Play-by-Play: Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch (12-3) vs. Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis (7-0)

1st round – The referee for this pay-per-view broadcast bout is Herb Dean.  After a touch of gloves, the action is on.  Davis has his high head kick blocked but then blocks a left hook by Boetsch.  Davis answers with another head kick attempt, however it is blocked again.  Boetsch hits Davis with a right hand in the back of the head.  Boetsch catches a kick from Davis and then is popped with a left hand in the nose.  Davis gets his arms around the waitst of Boetsch and puts him firmly on his back.  Davis leaps into half-guard and begins to hammer away on Boetsch’s body.  Boetsch isnt generating much offense and Davis continues to land elbow after elbow on his head and body.  Boetsch scrambles trying to get back to full guard but cant get there, Davis continues to utilize elbows.  Boetsch finally scrambles to full guard but only for a moment as he gets back up to his feet.  Davis lands a couple of knees before the bell sounds for the end of the round.  Davis 10-9

2nd round – Boetsch blocks a kick from Davis and then denies a takedown attempt.  Davis continues to pressure Boetsch and puts his back against the octagon fence.  Boetsch throws Davis off but he continues to stay busy and work for a takedown.  Boetsch delivers a knee to the body of Davis but Davis quickly regains dominant position.  Davis shoots for a takedown and gets it, however falls into a guillotine choke attempt, but gets out within seconds.  Davis takes Boetsch’s arm and puts it behind his back.  Boetsch does his best to defend but cant fight the submission anymore and taps out from a kimura.

UFC 123 Pay-Per-View Play-by-Play: Joe “J-Lau” Lauzon (18-5) vs. George Sotiropoulos (13-2)

1st round – The referee is charge of this pay-per-view broadcast is Mark Fennell.  The action is  on and both come out swinging.  A clinch is initiated by Sotiropoulos, but it is quickly abandon.  Lauzon shoots in with some combinations, but cant land anything significant.  Sotiropoulos has his shoot stuffed and is clipped with a left hand.  Sotiropoulos shoots in once again and is popped with some Lauzon strikes, however he keeps his position and presses Lauzon against the octagon fence.  Lauzon denies Sotiropoulos his takedown and they square off back in the center of the octagon.  Sotiropoulos pulls guard and gets Lauzon on the ground, where he falls into half guard.  Lauzon stands up and then is taken back to the ground on his back where Sotiropoulos takes his back.  Sotiropoulos controls Lauzon’s body and begins to deliver elbows to the body.  Sotiropoulos finally gets full mount but cant do much with that position.  Lauzon escapes and gets out from underneath as the bell sound for the end of the round.  Lauzon 10-9

2nd round – Sotiropoulos comes out with some strikes as the middle round begins.  Sotiropoulos changes his mind and goes in for a single leg takedown, which Lauzon stuffs and denies.  Sotiropoulos continues to go for the takedown but is denied once again.  They reset in the center of the octagon and Sotiropoulos throws Lauzon to the ground where he jumps on top.  Sotiropoulos falls into north-south position and immediately goes for a kimura.  Sotiropoulos keeps his dominant positon and quickly submits Lauzon with his kimura on the left arm.

UFC 121 Pay-Per-View Play-by-Play: Brock Lesnar (5-1) vs. Cain Velasquez (8-0)

1st round – This Heavyweight Title bout is going to officiated by Herb Dean.  It is on and Lesnar comes out looking very focused, as does Velasquez.  Lesanr comes int and ties up Velasquez.  After a couple of knees he shoots and gets a takedown but Velasquez gets back up.  Lesnar presses him against the octagon fence and puts his weight against the fence.  Velasquez is looking to slip an arm under the chin of Lesnar who is still pushing him against the octagon fence.  Lesnar has the back of Velasquez but he now breaks free and lands a right hand.  Lesnar lands a right but Velasquez gets the takedown and takes the back of Lesnar.  Lesnar gets up and falls back down.  Velasquez hammers away with strikes and puts Lesnar down.  Lesnar looks very tired and looks to be on his last breath.  Velasquez hammers away and elbows away with shots.  Velasquez pounds him out.

1st round – The referee for this co-main event in the welterweight division is John McCarthy.  Shields lands a kick to the body of Kampmann and then shoots in for a takedown.  He gets it but Kampmann catches Shields’ head.  Shields moves and tries to get into Kampmann’s guard.  Shields moves into side control and now into mount.  Kampmann defends but only for a second, Shields moves into mount.  Kampmann scrambles and gets back to his feet, although Shields keeps him close to his body.  Shields continues to keep him tight and against the fence.  They fall to the ground where Shields looks to finish on a double leg.  Kampmann stands up and lands an uppercut from the clinch.  They seperate and Kampmann squares off with Shields, who throws a leg kick and follows it with a jab.  Kampmann eats it and then checks a leg kick.  Kampmann looks to hit on a jab and does.  Shields seperates and throws a low kick and then a body kick.  Kampmann defends against a couple of leg kicks but is quickly taken to the floor with a takedown as the round ends.  Shields 10-9

2nd round – The middle round is underway and Shields hits Kampmann with a straight left hand.  Shields shoots and fakes a takedown and instead clinches against the fence.  Kampmann turns Shields around and knees Shields up the middle.  Shields falls to the floor and  converts a takedown.  He falls on top of Kampmann and moves into side control.  Kampmann scrambles but cant shake off Shields.  He finally does shake off Shields and squares off with him back on thier feet.  Shields is tiring but Shields takes him back to the ground and puts Kampmann on his back.  Shields moves into full mount but Kampmann shakes out of it within seconds.  Shields continues to move into full mount yet again but Kampmann scrambles out of trouble.  Kampmann stands back up and clinches with Shields against the octagon fence.  Kampmann lands a knee up the middle before McCarthy breaks them apart and resets them in the middle of the octagon. Shields pushes a jab in the face of Kampmann as the bell ends the round.  Shields 10-9

3rd round – The third round is on and Shields dives at the legs of Kampmann.  Kampmann defends and stands back up.  Shields moves toward Kampmann and tries to take him down.  They stand back up and Shields clinches while against the octagon fence.  Shields gets a single leg takedown but Kampmann defends and goes to the ground.  Kampmann takes Shields back and begins to pound on his body.  Shields is exhausted and has his neck cranked by Kampmann.  Kampmann controls the neck of Shields and begins to use elbows from top position.  Shields tries to hold onto Kampmann but is so exhausted, he cant.  Shields scrambles and gets back on top of Kampmann. Shields falls into side control of Kampmann but he escapes into half guard.  Shields lays on top of Kampmann and begins to work to take his back position.  Shields takes the back of Kampmann and has a body triangle on Kampmann.  Kampmann scrambles to try and get out but cant as Shields stays in dominant position as the round ends.  Shields 10-9

1st round – The referee for this welterweight bout is Jason Herzog.  Sanchez lunges at Thiago but misses.  Sanchez has his back against the octagon fence and is clipped with a kick to the body.  Sanchez hits with a left but is clipped with a hard right by Thiago.  Thiago stuffs a takedown and then clinches with Sanchez.  Thiago hits with a knee up the middle and then pushes Sanchez away.  Sanchez engages and hits with a low leg kick.  Thiago catches Sanchez and dumps him on his back falling into side control.  Thiago begins to ground and pound; Sanchez scrambles and gets temporarily caught in a darce choke.  Back on their feet, Sanchez scrambles out of the choke attempt and squares back off with Thiago.  Sanchez hits with a body shot and follows with another overhand right.  Sanchez clinches with Thiago anf presses Thiago against the octagon fence.  Sanchez turns his attention to a takedown but cant finish and instead is clipped with a couple hard right hands by Thiago.  Thiago 10-9

2nd round – The middle round is underway and Sanchez misses with a one-two combination.  Thiago races after Sanchez and clips him with a combination on the chin of Sanchez.  Sanchez survives and shoots in for a takedown, however Thiago defends.  Sanchez falls on top of Thiago and begins to pound away on the body of Thiago.  Thiago is twisted as Sanchez pounds away.  Thiago scrambles out and gets to half guard where he controls Sanchez right arm.  Thiago is trying for a kimura but Sanchez defends and gets his arm loose and passes guard.  Thiago is warned for hitting Sanchez in the back of the head.  Thiago goes for the kimura once again but Sanchez gets loose and stands up.  Sanchez is flipped over by the feet of Thiago but Sanchez gets back to his feet and picks up Thaigo just to slam him on his back.  Thiago stays busy from his back and looks to tie up one of Sanchez arms.  Sanchez moves from side control and tries to take the back of Thiago.  He forgets about a submission and attempts to pound away at the head of Thiago.  Sanchez takes the back of Thaigo but falls off as the round ends.  Sanchez 10-9

3rd round – The crowd is roaring as the 3rd and final round is underway.  Thiago lands a right hand but Sanchez smothers Thiago and puts him on his back.  Sanchez begins to pound away with knees to the body of Thiago.  Thiago tries to move into full guard and catches Sanchez’ arm.  Sanchez defends and gets out of trouble.  He moves and tries to take the back of Thaigo.  He gets it and also gets an arm under the chin of Thiago.  Thiago scrambles but Sanchez stays on his back, and now pounds away with strikes to the side of the body.  Sanchez turns Thiago over and continues to pound away on Thiago’s body.  Thiago remains flat on his back but quickly bucks out and gets loose.  Sanchez runs forward and is hit with a perfectly timed upkick by Thiago.  Sanchez remains alert and jumps into the guard of Thiago.  Thiago turns over after Sanchez hits him with several strikes.  Thiago scrambles out and momentarily takes Sanchez arm.  Sanchez gets his arm back and jumps back into Thiago’s guard where he works the body of Thiago.  Sanchez hammers away from full mount during the last ten seconds of the round.  Sanchez 10-9

1st round – This light-heavyweight affair is officiated by John McCarthy.  Ortiz comes out and lands a kick and a knee.  Hamill fires back with a left hand.  Ortiz is cut on the side of the head but continues on.  He hits with a kick to the body but Hamill takes him down.  After a quick scramble, they decide to take it to their feet where they both connect with jabs.  Ortiz hits with a body kick and then a low leg kick.  Ortiz hits with an inside leg kick followed by a blocked head kick.  Ortiz, now bleeding from the head and eye, lands another inside leg kick.  He hits with another jab answered by a Hamill left.  Hamill hits with a kick to the head of Ortiz and then blocks several strikes from Ortiz.  Hamill hits with a left hand but Ortiz answers with an inside leg kick.  Ortiz hammers away and lands a hard left to the face of Hamill.  Hamill hits with an overhand right but Ortiz answers with one of his own.  Ortiz 10-9

2nd round – Ortiz is patched up and comes out for the 2nd looking refreshed, as is Hamill.  McCarthy gets them going for the 2nd and Hamill pushes a jab in Ortiz face.  Hamill lands a left hand followed by a right hand.  Ortiz hits with a body shot but it is answered with an inside leg kick by Hamill.  Ortiz hits with a left hand but gets hit with an inside leg kick.  After stuffing a takedown, Ortiz clinches and hits with a knee up the middle.  Hamill has a left hand blocked and then grazes Hamill with a leg kick.  Ortiz hits with a left hand but gets hit with another right hand.  Ortiz hits with another knee up the middle and then hits with an inside leg kick that has Hamill backpedaling.  Hamill gets a takedown and is in his guard working his ground and pound.  Ortiz is going for a high guard but also continues to throw strikes from his back.  Hamill is working elbows and punches from the top.  Hamill lands an elbow and a hard right hand.  Ortiz clinches the head of Hamill and scrambles out but Hamill takes control and is now in side control.  Hamill is working to put Ortiz in a crucifix position but Ortiz is defending for now.  Ortiz scrambles and gets back to half guard as the 2nd round ends.  Hamill 10-9

3rd round – The 3rd round is on and looks to be tied at one round a piece.  Ortiz moves back and is hit with a left jab by Hamill.  Hamill hits with a hard left hand.  Hamill misses with an uppercut and Ortiz answers with a right hand to the head of Hamill.  Ortiz pressures Hamill but is tagged with an uppercut.  Hamill has his next uppercut blocked by Ortiz, who pushes forward.  Hamill connects with a left hand and then connects with a pair of jabs.  Ortiz lunges forward and misses with a left hand.  He then hits with a leg kick and then has his takedown attempt stuffed.  Hamill misses with his uppercuts and Ortiz hits with an uppercut.  Hamill gets a takedown with a minue remaining.  Hamill smothers Ortiz and  works his elbows.  Ortiz survives and eats several elbows from his back.  He holds on to Hamill and tries to tie him up.  Hamill continues to ground and pound on Ortiz.  Ortiz scrambles and almost gets to his feet as the bell ends the 3rd round.  Hamill 10-9

1st round – This heavyweight contest will be officiated by referee Jason Herzog.  Gonzaga is stalking after Schaub but is clipped by a combination to the head.  Gonzaga blocks most of it but Schaub comes right back, however misses with a right hand.  Schaub gets a jab through and then connects with a right hook.  Gonzaga regains his composure but gets popped again, this time with a combination of punches.  Gonzaga is hit again over the top with a right hook.  Schaub gets another right hook through and follows it with several more.  Gonzaga gets off a head kick attempt but it is blocked by Schaub.  Gonzaga hits with a kick to the thigh of Schaub again.  Gonzaga fakes a shoot and takes a right hand for his efforts.  Gonzaga gets grazed with a right hook but continues to plod forward.  He answers Schaub with a right hook but is clipped again with an overhand right.  They exchange and Schaub gets the better of the exchange.  Schaub comes forward putting Gonzaga on his backside with an overhand right.  The bell saves Gonzaga from more damage.  Schaub 10-9

2nd round – Gonzaga looks to be somewhat dazed as he comes out for the 2nd round.  Schaub clips Gonzaga with a right hand followd by a leg kick.  Gonzaga answers with a leg kick of his own and follows with another.  Gonzaga catches Schaub’s takedown attempt but Schaub comes forward with strikes.  Gonzaga defends and throws a low leg kick to gain some seperation.  Schaub fakes a shoot and misses with a heavy right hand.  He moves forward but Gonzaga hits him with an overhand right to the head.  Schaub is fine and squares off again in the center of the octagon.  Gonzaga hits with a low leg kick and then a body shot.  Gonzaga blocks a right hand but Schaub continues forward connecting with a knee.  Gonzaga survives and gets some seperation.  Schaub misses with a right as does Gonzaga.  Gonzaga hits with a body shot and Schaub answers with a partial right to the head of Gonzaga.  Schaub continues to try with his jabs but Gonzaga looks to be blocking most of them now.  Gonzaga is breathing heavy and Schaub moves forward nailing Gonzaga with an overhand right at the end of the 2nd round.  Schaub 10-9

3rd round – Gonzaga is clearly fatigued as he comes out for the last round.  Schaub doesnt look tired however is slowing a little.  Both fighters hit with strikes from a standing position.  Schaub shoots in for a takedown but Gonzaga defends and pushes Schaub away.  Gonzaga lunges and misses with a left hand.  Schaub finds a home with a left jab.  Gonzaga hits with consecutive jabs to the face of Schaub.  Schaub shakes it off and hits with an overhand left before Gonzaga hammers him with a low leg kick.  Gonzaga hits with a high head kick but Schaub blocks part of it and moves away.  Gonzaga looks to be using more kicks now landing another one to the shin of Schaub.  Gonzaga hits with a left hook and then gets hit with an overhand right by Schaub.  Gonzaga hits with a low leg kick but Schaub continues forward and hits with a left jab to the face of Gonzaga.  Gonzaga hits with a low leg kick anf then with a left hand at the end of the round.  He puts Schaub on the ground at the very end.  Gonzaga 10-9

UFC 121 Prelims Live Play-by-Play: Ryan Jensen (15-6) vs. Court McGee (12-1)

1st round – Herb Dean is the referee for this middleweight bout between Court McGee and RyanJensen.  McGee races out to the center and looks for a takedown.  So far, Jensen defends and then hits McGee with a left hand.  Jensen looks for a takedown but McGee defends.  Jensen lands a right hand and then gets a takedown putting McGee on his back. Jensen lands a hard right to the face of McGee.  He jumps back on top of McGee and lands several big shots.  McGee gets back to his feet and lands a couple of body shots, but its Jensen who lands a couple of quick shots to the face of McGee.  Jensen lands a right hand to the back of the head of McGee.  Jensen hits McGee with a right hand and then a knee to the body.  McGee misses with a wild right hand and then takes a right to the face.  McGee hits with a leg kick but misses with several jabs.  Jensen powers through McGee and lands some hard shots to the face and body.  He is putting together several combinations and McGee is taking them well.  McGee throws a leg kick back at Jensen but Jensen defends.  Jensen 10-9

2nd round –  Jensen comes out and misses with a hard right hand.  McGee continues to circle around the octagon making Jensen work to catch him.  McGee hits with a right hand to the face but Jensen comes back with a combination to the face of McGee.  McGee hits with a body shot and then a right to the head.  Jensen comes forward but McGee defends the takedown attempt.  Jensen is bleeding from the nose and McGee continues to target the face of Jensen.  He then throws and hits with a leg kick to the body of Jensen.  They tie up in the center of the octagon and McGee hits with a right hand.  Jensen is gasping for air but still hits with a right hand to the head of McGee.  McGee targets the body of Jensen but Jensen hits with a right hand to the face of McGee.  McGee fights back and hits with a combination.  McGee hits with a right hook and then circles around Jensen.  Jensen is tiring but lands a right hook.  McGee hits with an inside leg kick on Jensen.  McGee hits with a left hand and gets a takedown into side control as the bell ends the second round.  McGee 10-9

3rd round – McGee hits with a right hand and then takes Jensen to his back.  He postures up and lands a couple of hard ground and pound strikes.  McGee gets to full mount and hammers away with elbows from top.  McGee now turns his attention to an arm triangle choke.  Jensen looks to be out, he taps and ends the fight.

UFC 121 Prelims Live Play-by-Play: Patrick Cote (13-6) vs. Tom Lawlor (6-3, 1 NC)

1st round -  Big John McCarthy is the referee for this middleweight contest between “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and Patrick “The Predator” Cote.  Both fighters come out in a hurry but Lawlor is looking to take Cote to the ground.  Lawlor has Cote pressed against the octagon fence using foot stomps.  The fight finally makes it to the ground and Cote is on his back.  Lawlor is using shoulders and elbows from top position.  Cote is keeping Lawlor from landing any significant strikes from the top.  The fans start to boo causing Lawlor to press the action.  He gets his arms free and throws a couple from the top.  Lawlor stands up but jumps back into Cote’s guard and tries to land some hard strikes.  Cote is scrambling but Lawlor keeps him down.  Cote finally gets out from the bottom and a tight choke, stands up and lands a couple strikes before the bell ends the round.  Lawlor 10-9

2nd round – The action is back on, now from a standing position.  Lawlor looks to be quicker to the punch landing several jabs and hooks.  Lawlor shoots but Cote stuffs it and defends.  Lawlor presses Cote against the octagon fence and begins to strike from the clinch.  The fight drops to the mat and Lawlor again is on top.  Cote is trying to clinch the head of Lawlor, who is trying to find a home for a sharp elbow.  Lawlor is working to pass Cote’s guard, striking the entire time.  Lawlor is landing several strikes from Cote’s guard.  Cote scrambles and gets up to his feet, however Lawlor will not allow him to seperate.  Cote presses away but Lawlor keeps him tight and drops Cote on his back.  From top position, Lawlor hammers away on the head of Cote.  Cote grabs for a kimura but cant convert and instead falls back into guard.  McCarthy stands them up and they square off.  Cote partially lands a kick, but Lawlor lands a right hook right before the bell ends the round.  Lawlor 10-9

3rd round – Lawlor races Cote to the center of the octagon and dumps him on his back.  He immediately goes for an arm triangle choke.  Cote defends but Lawlor stays on top in dominant position.  Cote works to get back to his feet but Lawlor keeps him on his back and peppers him with hammer fists.  Lawlor stays on top and hammers away at the body and head of Cote.  McCarthy stands it back up but not much changes.  Lawlor clinches and presses Cote against the octagon fence.  Lawlor drops down for a takedown and gets it, taking Cote to the ground and on his back.  Cote is working to get out from bottom but Lawlor stays on top and works elbows.  Lawlor is now trying to pass guard and hammering away with elbows as McCarthy warns him for elbows to the back of Cote’s head.  Cote continues to work to get to his feet but to no avail, Lawlor stays on top and hammers away as the bell ends the fight.  Lawlor 10-9
