1st round – This heavyweight bout is being refereed by “Big” John McCarthy. After instructions, the fight is underway. Arlovski lands an inside leg kick and then paws with his left at Silva’s face. Silva hits with a right to the face of Arlovski. A kick by Silva is followed by a miss with a right hand. Arlovski hits with a right jab and then is hit with a right by Silva. Silva catches Arlovski with a left hook, but Arlovski hangs tough and resets. A short right hand by Silva hits, but Arlovski remains tough. Silva lands another heavy right hand that lands flush on Arlvoski’s face. Silva presses Arlovski against the fence and tries to get underhooks. Arlovski gets him off of him and gets tagged with another right hand. Arlovski is taken to the ground on his back. Silva lands a left hand as he jumps into Arlovski’s guard. Silva presses Arlovksi up against the fence. Arlovksi holds onto a weak guillotine attempt as Silva presses him against the cage. The both make it to their feet as the 1st round ends. 2nd round – The 2nd round is underway and Arlovksi pushes forward with a combination. Silva takes it and misses with his left hand. Silva hits with another right hook and again, this time with a counter left hand. Silva catches Arlovski with a hard right hand that throws him back against the fence. Arlovksi stays alert and grabs Silva. Silva moves his hands into a clinch around Arlovski’s head, but they are seperated. Silva shoots and pushes Arlovksi against the cage fence. Arlovski catches him and reverses position. They switch positions several times throughout the next minute or so until the ref breaks them apart again. Silva hits with a leg kick and Arlovksi answers with a kick of his own. Silva clinches with Arlovksi and presses him against the cage. Arlovksi reverses position and tries to land some inside punches. Arlovksi hits with an uppercut but Silva answers with a right of his own. They trade punches as the end of the round bell sounds. 3rd round – The final round is underway with a warning from Big John for inactivity. Silva throws a combination, but misses with most. He does end up pressing Arlovski against the cage fence. Arlovski holds onto a body lock until the ref seperates them. They exchange strikes and Silva hits again with a left hand that bloodies Arlovski’s nose. They are in each other’s arms again, Arlovksi has his back to the cage fence. They break apart and Silva hits with a right hand. They clinch again, this time Silva is the aggressor. Silva looks for the takedown and gets it. He is now on top and quickly moves into Arlovski’s half guard. Arlovski is tagged with a right hand from a standing position. They make it back to their feet and Arlovski misses with a hard right hand as the end of the fight bell sounds. Unofficial Scoring – Silva 10-9 ; Unofficial Decision – Silva 30-27
