Between fights, UFC veteran Matt “The Immortal” Brown is interviewed by NAAFS staff. Brown promises a big fight toward the end of 2010 and says he can’t reveal all of the details. Brown also mentioned that his girlfriend is due to have twin boys in October. Matt mentions he hopes to have 2 world champions in 20-25 years. Best of luck to Matt and his girlfriend! Lots of clinchwork. Both fighters throw some solid body knees. Villenueva look like he would rather take the fight to the ground. Poindexter just misses on a spinning backkick. Poindexter is getting in some nice shots on the feet and for some reason looks to take a shot. Villenueva sprawls, locks up a guillotine, and pulls guard. BP pulls out and the round ends. Round 2 and there is a low blow by Villenueva. Villenueva throws a looping right and Poindexter takes the opportunity to shoot for a takedown. Villenueva looks to lock up a kimura and Poindexter slips free. Back to the feet. Poindexter in on another shot and Villenueva is looking for an armbar or triangle. Frenzied punching and round 2 ends. Another one for Poindexter. 10-9 poindexter.
Poindexter throws a two punch combo, wobbles Villenueva who shoots to avoid more abuse. Poindexter moves to backmount and finishes the fight by rear naked choke.
