Heavyweight Bout (265 lbs)-
Greg Maynard (Hell’s Forty Fight Team) vs. Stipe Miocic (Strong Style Fight Team)
Maynard is an out-of-stater coming to Cleveland from West Virginia. Maynard is sponsored
by Intimidation Clothing, which you can check out at www.IntimidationClothing.com. The
very partisan crowd is letting Maynard hear it as they are chanting “Stipe, Stipe, Stipe” during
Maynard’s introduction. Miocic is also sponsored by Intimidation Clothing, and is escorted to
the cage by the Strong Style team en masse. Maynard is a relatively short heavyweight, while
Miocic looks like he could drop to light heavyweight. Miocic has several inches in height over
Maynard and we’re ready to rock and roll. The crowd is getting behind Miocic and he stumbles
Maynard with a jab. Miocic is throwing jabs and legkicks while Maynard is returning fire.
Miocic is landing some heavy leg kicks to Maynard’s lead leg, both to the inside and outside.
Maynard appeared to be mumbling to himself following a Miocic combo, and I’m almost certain
he said “Go, Go Gadget arms.” If you are a fan of boxing, this fight is for you. Miocic begins
peppering Maynard with knees and uppercuts. Despite the damage he is taking, Maynard looks
cool and collected. Round 1 goes to Stipe Miocic 10-9.
Round 2
Maynard grins at his opponent to begin the round and it seems to awaken Stipe. Stipe stumbles
Maynard with another nasty leg kick and follows with a body hook. More leg kicks by Miocic.
Now he’s working on the rear leg. Maynard crumbles after a frenzy of shots. Miocic threw
punches, kicks, and knees and the referee had no choice but to step in and stop the fight. Stipe
Miocic wins this heavyweight bout by way of 2nd round TKO, and that puts a wrap on tonight’s
NAAFS 2010 Night of Champions. Thanks for following the semi-live blog and make sure you
