1st round- Tito looks in great condition and Forrest just looks happy to be out of the octagon with Anderson Silva. Josh Rosenthal is the referee for this main event. Forrest tags Tito with a left hand. Tito is playing defense during the early going. Forrest hits Tito again with a right hand and just misses with antoerh right. Tito gets the takedown and starts to deliver elbows, his specialty. Forrest is trying to grab ahold of Tito’s elbows. Forrest misses on the kimura but Tito grabs a takedown attempt before Forrest can get completely up. Forrest makes it to his feet and Tito pins him against the fence. Forrest reverses position and lands a knee to the thigh of Ortiz. They seperate and Forrest hits with a right hand and a leg kick. Tito fakes a takedown and gets tagged with a right and a left hand. Tio misses with his right hand. Forrest has his uppercut blocked. Forrest connects with a right hand but slips and loses his footing. Forrest gets double underhooks and pins Ortiz up against the fence for the last 10 seconds. **UNOFFICIAL SCORING** 10-9 Griffin; he just stayed more busy and connected on more of everything

2nd round- Tito begins to change levels and hits Forrest with a takedown and smothers him. Tito connects with at least four or five solid elbows in the first 20 seconds. Forrest is trying to control Tito’s hands. Forrest is stretching out Tito so that he cant get anymore offense going. They both get back to their feet, where Forrest misses with an overhand right. Tito misses with a takedown and Ortiz mouthpiece is punched out. An inside leg kick by Forrest gets the action going again. Tito hits with an overhand right and gets another takedown. Tito almost gets into full mount but Forrest keeps him off of him for the most part. Ortiz smothers Forrest again and keeps Forrest on his back. Forrest is working hard to get back to his feet. Ortiz cuts open Forrest with an elbow. Forrest gets out and now is on top of Tito. Forrest is bleeding badly and into the eyes of Ortiz as the 2nd round closes. **UNOFFICIAL SCORING** Ortiz 10-9; he controlled position and cut open Forrest with an elbow

1st round- What a great welterweight battle, matching two of the best 170-pound strikers in the UFC together. “Rumble” and “Kos” are ready to go. Mario Yamasaki has this bout and gets them going, Johnson hits with a leg kick. Kos hits with a left hand hook and a leg kick. Johnson is changing levels from high to low, and gets caught with a hard right hand. A left jab and right hook hit Kos in the face followed by a weak leg kick. Kos fakes a shoot and is put against the fence by Johnson. Kos goes for the takedown but is stuffed and Johnson defends by sprawling in the center of the octagon. They are in each other’s clinch and Johnson hits Kos in the head with a knee while he is still on the ground. It is clearly illegal and Kos needs several moments to recover. Johnson loses a point for his actions and the ringside doctor is called in to check on Kos. They are back at it and Kos is hit with a head kick. Kos pushes Johnson back with a right hand and then blocks a head kick. A takedown is stuffed by Johnson for awhile but Kos completes it and gets double underhooks. Johnson turtles up and Kos continues to try and secure the back. Johnson turns into him and escapes to take him to the ground as the horn ends the 1st. **UNOFFICAL SCORING** 10-8 Koscheck due to the point deduction

2nd round- They are ready to go for the 2nd and Johnson misses with a right hand. A left jab hits Kos in the face and a leg kick does too. Kos repays Johnson with a low blow via kick. The action continues as Johnson gets tagged with a high kick. A right hand is telegraphed by Kos and instead pokes Johnson in the eye with his left hand. After a couple of minutes to recover they are back at it and Johnson gets a head kick through. An overhand right is connected by Kos and a left hook is converted by Johnson. Kos follows the punch up with a takedown. Kos stays on top of Johnson and starts to hammer with elbows as he transtions into the mount. Johnson is not allowing Kos to get full mount. Kos is now in side control and hammering body shots to Johnson’s body. Johnson looks to be just surviving by holding onto Kos. Kos is reigning down bombs now from top position. Kos has an arm triangle. Johnson is holding onto Kos’s arm so he cant convert on the arm trianlge. Kos is working the submission and has the rear naked choke locked in for the victory. A huge come from behind victory for Kos.

**OFFICIAL DECISION** Koscheck over Johnson via 2nd round submission (rear naked choke) 4:47

1st round- This welterweight bout takes the place of Hazelett vs. Parisyan, a fight that was taken off the card due to Parisyan’s personal problems. Anyway, Thiago looks confident as he introduces Volkmann to the UFC, but its Volkmann that hits first with a jab. Thiago grazes Volkmann with a high head kick. Thiago is wanting to hit on the uppercut. Volkmann gets clinch and begins deleivering knees to the thigh. Thiago gets the fight to the ground and is in side control. Volkmann pulls Thiago into half guard, and now is back up. Volkmann has Thiago’s back now and is trying to hit with a right uppercut. Volkmann hits with a tight uppercut but Thiago takes it to the ground and is in full mount. Volkmann is defending and scrambling by using the fence. Thiago wont allow him up that easy again, as he starts putting elbows in his face. Volkmann gets up and in front of Thiago, but goes for the takedown and takes a leg kick for his troubles. Volkmann has Thiago up against the fence, trying to use knees to the legs. Thiago returns the favor but Volkmann hits with an elbow to the face. THiago hits with a right uppercut and connects with a combination at the buzzer. **UNOFFICIAL SCORING** Thiago 10-9 especially after the combo at the horn

2nd round- Volkmann stands in front of Thiago at the start of the 2nd. A leg kick by Thiago trips up Volkmann, who scrambles to his feet and takes down Thiago. Volkmann gets into side control and starts hitting with bombs from top position. Thiago grabs a leg as Volkmann tries to get better position and peppers Thiago with head shots. Thiago is working to get to his feet and he does. They are in a clinch again, where Volkmann pins Thiago against the fence. Volkmann hits with an uppercut and foot stomps. Volkmann cant get the fight to the ground. Thiago is hit with a left hook. Volkmann gets it to the ground, where he takes the back of Thiago again. Volkmann is on top of Thiago’s back, but Thiago reverses it and makes Volkmann eat a big right hand. Thiago hits with several body shots as Volkmann stays busy working his full guard. Thiago is barely staying busy with shots to his body. A shot by Thiago almost finishes Volkmann, who just hangs on. **UNOFFICIAL SCORING** 10-9 Thiago

3rd round- The final round begins with a jab by Thiago. Volkmann pressures Thiago with a combo but gets tagged and hits with punches to the midsection of Volkmann. Thiago jumps into Volkman’s guard, where he goes for the triangle. Thaigo wisely works out of the submission attempt and instead allows Volkmann to get top position. They are back up to their feet now but Volkmann goes for a takedown and misses. Volkmann is grinding out a takedown where he gets on top of Thiago. Thaigo rolls over to his side, and Volkmann attempts to pin his arms to the side and pound on his face. Thiago cant get out and is tagged with several unanswered punches. Thiago survives and gets to his feet. Volkmann is on his back and Thiago jumps on top of his opponent again. Volkmann is turning so that he can try and submit Thiago. Volkmann sneaks in a darce choke from the bottom and loses perfect position. Thiago comes back and hammers on Volkmann for the last 10 seconds. An all-around great fight with alot of position changes and excitement. **UNOFFICIAL SCORING** 10-9 Volkmann; UNOFFICIAL DECISION 29-28 Thiago

**OFFICAL DECISION** Thiago over Volkmann via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

1st round- In a lightweight battle between two TUF alumnus, Dent takes ring control early. A head kick is blocked by Dent. Sotiorpoulus reach advantage is obvious, as he connects with a nice combination. Dent pops with a couple jabs. Dent begins to pick Sotiorpoulos away with his left hook. A solid takedown by Sotirolpoulus but Dent stays active with an elbow from full guard. Now is side control, Sotiropoulus begins to work knees to the body and moves to take the back of Dent. Dent defends well until Sotiropoulus takes his back and begins to pound on his head with ground and pound strikes. Dent is staying busy from bottom, at least enough to not get the fight stopped. Yves Lavigne allows the bell to sound and a relieved Dent drags himself to his seat. **UNOFFICIAL SCORING** Sotiropoulus 10-9 in a pretty straight forward round

2nd round- Head movement by Dent allows him to avoid a couple of combinations by Sotiropoulus. Dent is attempting kicks at the start of round 2. The vet, Dent, takes a left hand to the face, but pulls guard. Maybe a mistake, as Sotiropoulus begins his assault from top position. Sotiropoulus goes for a darce choke. Dent turns to avoid the pressure of the choke and buys some time. Sotiropoulus is going for full mount but Dent does a decent job of defending. Sotiropoulus is using elbows but Dent scrambles to his feet. Sotiropoulus has back control and drags him back to the canvas. From full mount, Sotiropoulus is beginning to work the front choke. Dent works out but looks to have lost control of an arm. Sotiropoulus works into dominant position, grabs an arm crush position and finally makes Dent tap with an armbar submission.

** OFFICIAL DECISION** George Sotiropoulus over Jason Dent via submission (armbar) 2nd round (4:36)

1st round- Grove and Rosholt take center and Grove is trying to use his reach as an advantage. Rosholt goes for the takedown and gets it, slamming Grove to the mat. Rosholt stands up while on the back of Grove and slams him again. Keeping on his back, Rosholt begins to drag Grove to the canvas. Grove resists and knees his opponent to the body. Grove reverses position and puts Rosholt on his back. Rosholt has control of Grove’s arms. Grove gets his arms back and starts to pound on Rosholt;s body. Back to their feet, Rosholt hits Grove with a left hand. Rosholt shoots again and Grove defends and pops his smaller opponent with body punches. Rosholt grapples and gets full mount then transitions into an arm triangle attempt. Grove uses his length and grabs Rosholt’s arm as he gets to his feet. “Da Spyder” locks in the triangle choke for the win after Rosholt is forced to tap.

OFFICIAL DECISION: Grove over Rosholt via submission (triangle choke) 1st round (3:59)

One of the big questions coming into UFC 106 was would UFC “Welterweight” Anthony Johnson make weight at 170 pounds? After weighing in at 176 for his most recent fight, many wondered if the large Welterweight should move up a weight class to 185 pounds. But that question was answered on Friday night at the UFC 106 Weigh ins as the results are in. Johnson weighed in at 170 pounds to silence his critics for now as every UFC fighter came in at acceptable weight.

UFC 106 will take place tomorrow night, November 21 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
