UFC – Fight Night 19 Live Results and Play-By-Play

Nate Quarry (17-3) vs. Tim Credeur (13-4) - Welterweight Bout

1st round – Herb Dean gets them going, Credeur hits on a front kick and follows with a high kick.  Quarry catches Credeur with a right hand.  Credeur comes back with a flurry of punches mixed in with a body kick.  Quarry hits with a straight left then misses with a heavy right.  Both fighters are staying busy and both are demonstrating a good chin.  Quarry misses then gets caught with a Credeur right.  “Crazy” is hitting often but not very hard.  Crdeur eats a hard right, getting rocked.  Quarry gives up his back but doesnt give up on the ground.  Amazingly, Quarry gets back up to his feet but looks very tired.  Creduer finished with a nice combination of punches. 

**Creduer owned that round and Pro Fighting Fans gives it to him 10-9**

2nd round – Both fighters survive heavy hands.  Quarry catches Credeur and drops him on his back but cant finish him instead landing in his guard.  Quarry using elbows and right hands while on top.  Creduer having a hard time with Quarry’s ground-and-pound.  Quarry trying for side control, however Credeur doing a fairly good job of keeping him out of it.  Quarry slowing down, stands back up trying to hit with right hands when standing.  Credeur hitting from the bottom with an elbow.  Quarry drops one more final right hand before the round ends.

**Pro Fighting Fans will go with Quarry 10-9, setting up a decisive final round**

3rd round – Final round begins with Credeur catching Quarry with a left hand followed by serious punches.  Quarry rebounds and connects with another hard right, dropping Credeur.  Creduer is put up against the fence but surviving.  They both get back to their feet and Quarry looks powerful.  Credeur drops again.  Quarry jumps into Credeur’s guard.  Credeur is still confused but hanging on.  Credeur on his back is hitting with elbows.  Quarry continues to attack with ground-and-pound.  Quarry going after Credeur’s body until Herb Dean stands them up for the last 30 seconds.  Exhaustion sets in, both fighters finish trading blows.  An excellent fight!!

**Quarry is given the victory via unanimous decision**

Carlos Condit (23-5) vs. Jake Ellenberger (21-4) – Welterweight Bout

1st round – Referee Leon Roberts start them off.  Ellenberger lands a hard right hand that puts Condit on his back.  Ellenberger uses his strength taking top position.  Condit staying active from the bottom position with elbows and short punches.  Ellenberger gets back to his feet, followed by Condit, who lands a right hand.  Ellenberger drops Condit again, then a third time.  Ellenberger couldnt finish him only to get mounted by Condit.  Ellenberger gets a front choke in until Condit reverses in a matter of seconds.  Condit hits on several elbows from the bottom.  Ellenberger is showing his power everytime he hits Condit.  Condit is still dazed but clinches with Ellenberger.  Ellenberger lands one last right hand before the bell.

**What a fast paced 1st round!!  Pro Fighting Fans gives the one-sided round to Ellenberger 10-9**

2nd round – Condit trying to keep distance with low kicks.  Ellenberger takes Condit to the ground very easily.  Condit, in full guard, is attempting to set up a triangle choke.  Ellenberger is using his strength to keep Condit on his back.  Condit cant lock in the guillotine but quickly moves to a kimura attempt.  Cant finish on the kimura but does have the mount position.  Ellenberger survives into half guard for seconds.  Condit mounts again only to be reversed for a second time.  Condit and Ellenberger both get back to their feet where Condit hits on a combination to end the round.

3rd round – The decisive 3rd round begins with Condit getting Ellenberger to the ground.  Ellenberger manages to gain top position, using elbows as his weapon.  Ellenberger hits Condit in the face with a high kick.  Ellenberger has hold of a very tight guillotine but not tight enough as Condit breaks free to take side control.  Condit is the more active fighter this round, dropping heavy right hands from top position.  Condit take the back and using ground-and-pound to score points.  Ellenberger gets a burst of energy and reverses position.  They both square off on there feet with 1:00 remaining.  Condit gets his opponent to the ground, where he uses excellent position to gain control.  Condit finishes as the dominant aggressor.

**A desperate Condit get that round as Pro Fighting Fans scores it 10-9 Condit;  Overall PFF scores it 29-28 Condit**

**The official decision goes to Condit (29-28,29-28,28-29) by split decision**

Gray Maynard (7-0) vs. Roger Huerta (20-2-1) – Lightweight Bout

1st round – The round begins with very little action, both fighters missing on many of their punches and kicks.  Maynard finally hits with a right hand.  It looks as if Maynard is measuring his right hand.  Huerta cant land his trademark kicks.  Maynard, looking very quick, hits on a right left combo.  Huerta catches Maynard with a combination, dazing him for moments, but not able to finish him.  Maynard goes for his strength, his wrestling, but is not able to convert on the takedown. 

**Good start to possibly Huerta’s last UFC fight;  Pro Fighting Fans gives it 10-9 Huerta**

2nd round -  Huerta drops a low kick but gets caught with a right hand.  Maynard using his right hand often but is countered by Huerta, who uses a left hook this time.  Huerta slips and Maynard tries to capitalize.  Huerta catches his footing and catches “The Bully” with a straight right jab.  Maynard buckled Huerta, who recovers quickly.  Maynard misses and gets caught with an uppercut by Huerta.  Maynard uses knees from the clinch.  As the fighters break free, Huerta hits on a right hook.  Huerta dazzles with quick, crisp combinations for the last 30 seconds.

**This round could go either way but I’ll go with Huerta again, he just showed more. 10-9**

3rd round – Maynard catches Huerta with a short right hook.  Maynard moves his position in the cage from side to side, occasionally peppering in a right hand.  Maynard sneaks in a double leg takedown and into side control.  Maynard hammering on the body of Huerta, who is trying to reverse position.  Maynard is dominating from the top position.  Huerta finally catches Maynard with strikes from his seat.  Maynard is going for a shoulder lock but Huerta withstands his arm being turned like a pretzel and jumps on top.  They both manage to get to their feet until Maynard dumps Huerta on his back once again.  Huerta looks very tired but continues on with short punches from the clinch.  Huerta hits with some knees as the round ends.

**This round is definetly controlled by Maynard 10-9, however PFF scores the fight 29-28 in favor of Huerta**

**The official decision goes (28-29,30-27,30-27) in favor of Gray Maynard via split decision**

Nate Diaz (10-4) vs. Melvin Guillard (41-8-3, 1 NC) – Lightweight Bout

1st round – The main event finally is on.  Guillard drops Diaz with a hard right hand.  Diaz, not shying away, clinches with Guillard and converts with a takedown.  Guillard uses fence to reverse position.  They break free and get back to their feet.  Diaz, bleeding now puts Guillard down on his back.  Guillard jumps back up to his feet but his back is still against the fence.  Now in the center cage, Diaz misses with his habs but hits with knees.  Diaz hits with a body kick then with a right hand.  Diaz continues to pace forward and pressuring Guillard, who hits with a hard knee to the face of Diaz.  The round ends with Diaz getting a takedown while trying to secure a submission.

** I see that round as very close, but PFF will give the edge to Diaz 10-9**

2nd round – Guillard looks uncomfortable early in the round.  Diaz pressuring Guillard, connecting with knees straight up the middle.  Guillard wants nothing to do with a ground fight and gets back to his feet.  Diaz catches Guillard’s arm but cant do anything with it.  Diaz puts Guillard to the ground and chokes him out with a guillotine.

    That Quarry Credeur fight was crazy. It looked like Credeur had the standup advantage until Quarry rocked him again and again. Crazy good fight.

    Nice night of fights – Guillard did not look like a guy with 50+ pro fights under his belt diving in head-first in a submission speacialist like that, but a fun night of action-packed fights.
