Bart “Bartimus” Palaszewski is a seven year professional with equal skills as a stand-up fighter as well as grappler. The Poland-born fighter trains in Illinois with the world-renown Team Curran. He has experience in a number of major organizations but currently fights out of the lightweight division for the WEC. His career had a rocky start after losing all of his first four fights as a professional. He rebounded with some impressive performances and won eight straight inside organizations such as Extreme Challenge, Superbrawl, and the Xtreme Fighting Organization. He continued his surge by winning 13 of his next 16, defeating opponents of high caliber such as Jay Estrada, Luke Caudillo, and Joe Jordan. He was beginning to become well known as a tough 155-pound fighter who was moving up in several mid-level promotions. When he finally landed in the International Fight League in April of 2006, he was considered a favorite for the lightweight title. He chose to compete for the Quad City Silverbacks where he would go on to win his first five fights in the team-oriented league. “Bartimus” would end up losing to Chris Horodecki in February 2007 but rebounded to secure wins in three consecutive fights. Before the IFL would close its doors in the spring of 2008, Palaszewski was defeated in all of his last three fights. Deividas Taurosevicius, Chris Horodecki, and Jim Miller all earned victories over Palaszewski allowing him to finish with an 8-4 IFL record. Two months after his final IFL fight, Palaszewski was back in the cage, this time for Adrenaline MMA. He used a kick to KO Jeff Cox during the 2nd round of their June battle for his first victory in ten months. He received the opportunity to fight at WEC 37 against Alex Karalexis in December of 2008. With the victory, he earned the right to continue his WEC career, however lost back-to-back bouts to Ricardo Lamas and Anthony Njokuani at WEC 39 and 40 respectively. With a 1-2 record in the WEC, he has to go outside of the organization to try and get back on the winning track. That he did, defeating Tyler Combs at XFO 32 in September 2009 and earning a return ticket back to the WEC. On December 19th, Palaszewski will fight Anthony “Showtime” Pettis with a lot on the line. With a win, Palaszewski will even his record in the organization as well as make a significant leap up the lightweight ladder.
