“The Outlaw” Dan Hardy has become a fan favorite to English fans, American fans and fans across the world due to his skills both striking and more recently in striking back against critics of the sport.

Hardy recently made news in the MMA internet community for his brilliant defense of the sport against a hater on a message board and more famously for answering back to Bernard Hopkin’s derogatory “gay” comments about MMA. Hardy was quoted as saying in response “If I remember correctly, Hopkins enters the ring wearing a gimp mask, right?“

Dan Hardy’s career began mostly in the Cage Warriors promotion with a few fights in other small shows including a fight in King of the Cage. Wins for Hardy promoted him to the Japanese based promotion Cage Force where he won all of his fights except for a DQ loss to Yoshiyuki Yoshida.

Post Yoshida, Hardy ripped off three straight wins leading to a UFC contract. Hardy had a very close debut fight with Akihiro Gono winning by split decision. Hardy made a statement in his next fight KO’ing Rory Markham in round one. Hardy’s last fight was a decision win over Marcus Davis. Pre fight trash talk done included Hardy calling Davis a “plastic paddy” referring to his Irish heritage.

Hardy is now in line for a title shot against UFC Welterweight Champion George St. Pierre after he defeated Mike Swick at UFC 105.
