Fighter Profile: Mike "Quick" Swick
Hometown: San Jose, California Height: 6’1 Weight: 185 lbs. Age: 30 Current Organization: UFC Professional Record: 14-3
An original cast member of The Ultimate Fighter, Mike “Quick” Swick has catapulted from reality TV show fighter to one of the best welterweights in the UFC and the world. Before getting a shot on The Ultimate Fighter Season One, Swick had garnered a 5-1 record, fighting mostly in the then pre Zuffa owned WEC. Ironically in his last fight before entering the ultimate fighter house, Swick suffered his first career loss against fellow contestant Chris “The Crippler” Leben. During his stint on The Ultimate Fighter Swick made the semi-finals of the Light Heavyweight bracket though eventually being submitted by Stephan Bonnar. On the finale show, Swick KO’d Alex Schoenauer starting a chain of wins in the Middleweight division. From that point he won four straight fights including wins over Joe Riggs and David Loiseau. Swick’s streak came to an end when he met tough Japanese fighter Yushin Okami. After losing to Okami, Swick dropped down to the welterweight division. Currently, Swick is now 4-1 beating Josh Burkman, Marcus Davis, Jonathan Goulet and Ben Saunders all at 170 pounds. Swick was looking to keep the streak alive and possibly vie for a shot at the UFC Welterweight title held by George St. Pierre, but he faced the red hot Englishman Dan Hardy at UFC 105 for number one contendership and lost by Unanimous Decision.
