Historic WEC Bantamweight ChampionsA list of all historic belt holders in the WEC's 135 pound Bantamweight DivisionThe first Bantamweight Champion for the World Extreme Cagefighting MMA promotion donned the WEC Bantamweight Champion belt at WEC 20 when Eddie Wineland defeated Antonio Banuelos. Chase Beebe then topped Wineland in his first title defense and held it one fight longer than Wineland before arguably the best 135 pound fighter in MMA history, Miguel Angel Torres, earned the title of WEC Bantamweight Champion and held it for over a year and a half while making a solid case as one of the top pound for pound fighters in MMA. However Brian Bowles shocked the MMA world by defeating Torres at WEC 42 in August 2009 and looks to make his first title defense in March 2010 at WEC 47.
