Fedor connected with a vicious right hand that sent the giant Brett Rogers to the ground at Strikeforce: Fedor vs Rogers. The greatest fighter in the history of the sport then jumped on Rogers like a lion after its prey and finished the fight. Fedor injured his hand in the skirmish and will likely be out 3-4 months. With the victory Fedor moves to 31-1.
Dream Matchup: Brock Lesnar

Silva is simply a freak of nature. He isn’t big but is lean and incredibly athletic. His head and foot movement is incredible and his striking accuracy is among the best the sport has ever seen. The Spider hasn’t lost since January of 2006 and that was via a DQ to Yushin Okami. His last true loss came in December of 2004 to Ryo Chonan (Pick up a copy of Pride Shockwave 2004-an incredible submission) via submission. The 25-4 Silva is rumored to defend his title atop the UFC 109 fight card in early 2010 against Vitor Belfort.
Dream Matchup: Lyoto Machida at 205lbs

The best athlete in all of MMA is on a 6 fight winning streak since losing his title to Matt Serra at UFC 69. After winning theUFC Welterweight Championship title back from Serra at UFC 83, GSP has defeated Jon Fitch, BJ Penn and Thiago Alves. It is rumored GSP will face the United Kingdom’s Dan Hardy following Hardy’s victory over Mike Swick. Hardy will have a punchers chance but GSP will likely dominate The Outlaw with his power and athleticism. The 19-2 GSP will be hard to beat in 2010.
Dream Matchup: Anderson Silva at a catch weight

The Dragon won a controversial decision over Shogun Rua at UFC 104. Shogun may have laid the blue print on how to be the 16-0 Machida. Shogun was the aggressor but remained patient landing leg kicks throughout the fight. It is likely a rematch will happen in early 2010.
Dream Matchup: Rematch with Shogun Rua

The former Light Heavyweight Champion has handled himself very well during this season of The Ultimate Fighter. In dominating Rampage Jackson’s team, Evans has shown his technical knowledge and most of all that he is an extremely intelligent human being. Unfortunately, the match-up between Rampage Jackson and Evans will not happen anytime soon as Rampage is filming the movie version of The A-Team with Jackson is playing the part of BA Baracus. Instead of the fight everyone wants to see, Evans will face Thiago Silva in the main event at UFC 108.

The greatest lightweight in the history of the sport is coming off an impressive victory over Kenny Florian at UFC 101. The Prodigy is a better fighter when he stays busy and fights at least 3 times per year. A dedicated and focused Penn will be a nightmare for anyone in the 155lb weight class including Diego Sanchez who he will face at UFC 107 in December. The 14-5-1 Penn will have his hands full with the talented Sanchez but should prevail
Dream Matchup: Eddie Alvarez

The Bellator FC Lightweight Champion is one of the best fighters on the planet. Alvarez recently defeated Katsunori Kikuno at Dream 12. Formally just a brawler from Philly, Alvarez’ game has evolved into the complete package. He can stand and bang and then submit his opponent in a second. Alvarez will be competing in Bellator in 2010.
Dream Matchup: BJ Penn |

The UFC Heavyweight Champion is in a bigger fight than any he has had in the cage. An undisclosed illness has forced the megastar to the hospital and has his career in jeopardy. Brock is immensely talented and good for the sport. Hopefully Brock will return and be at full strength soon.

Although Henderson isn’t the first fighter to come to mind when speaking of greatness; he is truly one of the best ever. Hendo isn’t flashy, won’t talk trash but will bring his lunch pale and go at it. The 25-7 Henderson is currently at a stalemate in contract negotiations with the UFC. It is possible, but unlikely, that he will sign with Strikeforce.
Dream Matchup: Anderson Silva rematch |

Previously a relative unknown, The Dreamcatcher is starting to gain some notoriety following his victories over Babalu Sobral and Sokoudjou. The 24 year old Mousasi already has 30 professional fights under his belt. He holds a career record of 27-2-1 and is the current Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion. Look for Gegard to face Mo Lawal at some point in Strikeforce.
Dream Matchup: Dan Henderson for the Strikeforce LHW title |
