Pro Fighting Fans' Editor-in-Chief Scott Dryden interviews The Ultimate Fighter Season #9 member Jason Dent in what has become a weekly column. Dent discusses Episode 9 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 9 which originally aired on May 27, 2009 in which Dryden joking asks Jason if he was even there for the episiode. For past and future TUF 9 updates, continue to look to ProFighting-fans.com each week.

Jason Dent - TUF 9 SD- Were you even there Jason, haha?

JD- The show was more about Frank Lester getting a 2nd chance. I believe he is the only guy to get a 2nd chance and win.

SD- What did you think about the whole training argument with Henderson & Bisping?

JD- I really didn’t want to be involved in any of it at all. I think Dan wanted to throw off their training a little bit. There was a lot more that happened behind the scenes. I didn’t care if we trained early or late. It really didn’t matter to me.

SD- What about Bisping throwing the water at Damarques Johnson and how did the team react?

JD- Demarques took it the hardest! He is the one that took the water to his face. He wasn’t too happy about it but its reality TV so there is going to be some drama.

SD- When you went back to the house was Demarques still really hot about it?

JD- Yeah, he didn’t want to let it go. I think it was wrong but at the end of the day it is just water and it is Michael Bisping, get over it. Not because it was Demarques, but I thought the whole thing was kind of funny.

SD- Did you know anything about Faulkner’s hypnotist?

JD- I didn’t really. What I heard was that he went to a psychologist. All of that was pretty crazy.

SD- Coming into the Lester-Faulkner fight, did you think Lester had a shot considering the beating he took in his previous bout?

JD- To be honest, I thought it was a long shot. Frank was missing four of his teeth and his nose was busted up. Part of his spirit was broken but fortunately for him Faulkner had some physical and mental battles going on. I think Frank deserves it. I got along pretty well with Frank in the house. For him to step up after getting four of his teeth knocked out and have the balls to get in there and fight, he definitely deserves it.

SD- Final question, not only did Faulkner quit but he was all smiles and hugging Frank after the fight. What is your opinion on that and did you hear any of his UK teammates?

JD- It really doesn’t look like David Faulkner wants to fight anymore. He made a comment about being a pro wrestler or actor. Ultimate Fighting is not the end all be all and if he wants to pursue wrestling or whatever it is his life, his choice. It’s a shame he didn’t realize he didn’t want to fight prior to the show. I really only heard comments from the UK team on TV. Like we’ve talked about before, I think the UK team has more camaraderie. I think they respect Dave. From what I hear he is a beast in the gym but a little mentally weak when it comes fight time. The UK team is a too respectful to do any back talking.

SD- Thanks again Jason and talk to you next week.
